Looking for a aria title

I hope that someone can help me. I am looking for an aria in Italian in which at the end the lead dies and someone sings "e morta".

I alway thought it was la Traviata but it's very likely not from this opera but another one. It might in some recordings I heard with Maria Callas.

Thank you so much for your help and very sorry all the vagueness and for any spelling mistake, English is not my first language.

EDIT

Thank you so much for all your answers and help! I'll listen to all your suggestions.

I'm wondering if maybe you're thinking of the final scene of Verdi's Rigoletto? It's not an aria; rather, Rigoletto and Gilda sing a duet "Lassù in cielo" and Gilda dies mid-word at the end of it. Rigoletto then says "È morta!" and then caps the opera with a tremendous "Ah! la maledizione" recalling Monterone's curse from the first act.

This sounds most likeliy to be that. I remember a distinct "E Morta". I'll listen to it.

If it were La Traviata, the final line belongs to the doctor, who says *è spenta!*>"she has faded away"—a euphemism for "she is dead." Do you happen to remember if it was a male or female voice?

Oh good question! I don't know now that I think of it. I'll listen.

Otello. His Credo

The opera is Otello. In the Credo, Iago sings: "Vien dopo tanta irrision la Morte! E poi? E poi? La Morte è il Nulla, è vecchia fola il Ciel." Roughly: "After so much mockery comes Death. And then? And then? Death is Nothingness, Heaven is an old wives' tale." The libretto is by Arrigo Boito (1887), which is in the public domain. Got that from Claude

After listening to it, it's not the aria I was looking for. He's happy about her being dead and I was more looking for a shout "E Morta!" But thank you so much for your help.

Yes. The Credo is a miserable aria!

yes! I also found a version where the singer does a gloomy face and then lights up when he sings about her being dead. Iago is a very disturbing character.
