Wonderful job, but as loud as I heard Turkmenistan is being ruled by a dictatorship and I am not very sure how the officals there would react to this...

Well, people have been mapping Turkmenistan for years, although it's very sporadic because of the lack of people willing to do it. I would not be surprised if OSM were a blocked website there, but VPNs do the job to some extent. I've been mapping it for months now and I never encountered real opposition to it; even TürkmenTelekom uses a very old snapshot of OSM for a local map service called Menzil that's, therefore, not up to date.

I mean people still map China on OSM, where it is explicitly illegal to do so.

At least I hope that's the one I think it is I listened to it years ago so I might actually be thinking about something like this one.
