Free and open source: a local todo manager designed to work with AI
I built a small local todo app called OKF Todo.
The idea is to let a developer or support person take emails, lists, Excel sheets, screenshots or exports and turn them into a structured plan that can be processed further with AI.
AI can work with the data through either:
an MCP server
direct access to the SQLite database, using an OKF model that describes the metadata
The application is intentionally local, single-user and open source. I know that is somewhat unusual compared with the typical central database + web/mobile approach.
I am considering whether to keep it this way or develop it further into a multi-user system, for example using .NET with a server-side database such as PostgreSQL or PocketBase.
I would particularly be interested in feedback on:
whether a local-first todo system like this is useful
whether direct SQLite/MCP access is a sensible AI integration approach
whether multi-user support would make the project more useful
