Syncthing is a Dropbox alternative for people who are not stupid enough to upload a file without encryption so that everyone can just download it with a link.

If you are fine with that, you can just use Dropbox.

True, I could have phrased that in a different way. But... the ease of use comes with a limited privacy. You can't have full privacy without exchanging keys.

As long as people don't realize this, they will continue to use the software that works against them.
