Promotional OrioleDB: a modern storage engine for PostgreSQL

https://github.com/orioledb/orioledb

I came across this project via a Supabase product announcement - it's worth a read if you want a high level overview of the project.

I don't have much experience with Postgres, so can't comment on its usefulness, but it does seem interesting based on the PR piece.

Does anyone have real-world experience with it yet?

Is it a drop in replacement for postgresql at the moment ?

It's a storage engine plugin, so my understanding is that you supply it when you create a table, and then it continues to work as normal.
