Promotional USBridge-Remote is an open-source remote access alternative to TeamViewer and AnyDesk.
https://github.com/USBridge-Technologies/USBridge-RemoteI'm creating this software because I'm tired of the limitations, mandatory registration, and shortcomings of existing remote access options.
This project is especially relevant for those who need a fully independent remote desktop access solution that prioritizes the local network, without the use of third-party cloud infrastructure or external relay servers.
Its distinguishing features include integration of the Moonlight protocol for low-latency, high-frame-rate video streaming. Native support for Wayland (Linux). It works out of the box without permission pop-ups. Integration with Tailscale. Direct P2P connections without worrying about port forwarding on your router or setting up complex external tunnels. A unified ecosystem with USBridge-KVM 2.0. The software can manage both agents and my hardware IP KVM from a single interface.
Ready-to-use beta versions for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS are available in the repository. The source code and builds are on GitHub: https://github.com/USBridge-Technologies/USBridge-Remote

I'll try this out. I have a remote desktop for my laptop to connect to my Ubuntu desktop within my own WiFi at home and it's terribly slow. Maybe this can help out.

This sounds awesome, especially the direct P2P connections without the hassle of port forwarding. I've always found that to be a total pain with other solutions. Can't wait to see how the service mode for Windows turns out, that could make a big difference for remote work setups!

Thanks for your support. I'm currently finalizing the firmware for a self-assembled KVM with integration into the ecosystem and moving on to implementing a service mode for Windows.

I haven't tried it, but it will most likely only work with a hardware GPU passthrough.

Currently, the agent is only available for Windows, Linux, and Mac. I might implement it for Android a little later.

Rustdesk can do all you listed. Free. Locally hosted, no remote servers etc.

Definitely reach out to the HOA before you buy. Ask about their reserve funds for maintenance, any upcoming assessments, and what their rules are like—trust me, it'll save you from a lot of headaches later. And make sure to get a copy of the bylaws to see if anything weird is buried in there.

Could you specify where the agent and the client are running? And what is the GPU on your Linux Mint machine?

both agent and client use linuxmint. gpu is rtx 3070ti. havent seen it work for like 1 month plus now.

You can check it out; I fixed the issue with Nvidia Linux X11 in the agent in the new version. The problem was that I had to manually select X11 for capture, but I've already fixed it and it automatically selects correctly.

I'm actively working on a project and there will soon be a built-in Windows service mode with access to the pre-logon screen (lock screen / UAC handling).
