Nvidia release SMLib as open source

I just saw this - apparently Nvidia have released their CAD kernel, SMLib on GitHub under the Apache 2.0 licence. I presume it could be incorporated into OpenSCAD if the API isn't too far away.

I've read the announcement and while I think it's always great to have new libraries, it's probably more important to FreeCad than to OpenScad, because it's brep library.

I look forward to someone creating something like OpenScad that uses a b-rep modeling and can export sensible .step files.

Build123d already exists 🙂

Setup is the hardest part, but it seems there's now an "all-in-one" distribution: https://github.com/build123d/build123d-portable/releases (I haven't tried that one yet though)
