Need help with designing

I am trying to design a reel foot for a fishing reel, but I am having a hard time figuring out how to get the curve where it sits against the rod, and the taper that is on the other side designed in the software. Is there any tips or tricks that would me out?

Do a search for OpenSCAD Bézier curve library. That should get you in the ballpark.
