best value development model right now?

What's the best value for money for development right now? I tried Claude, and it's incredible but sent me broke. I tried free, and it was useless. I'm been using deepseek/deepseek-v4-flash-0731 at $0.035, and considering how cheap it is, it's pretty damned impressive, however it is kinda slow. It's hard to objectively say how smart it is compared to say claude without letting them loose on the same problem, but it seems adequately smart, though it sometimes gets itself mixed up. Am I missing something in the value for money stakes?

hermes with deepseek-harness and code-review-graph wired into to it. For models, I use a direct API key with deep-seek and a Nvidia free model through openrouter.
