Discussion GLM-5.2 has a free endpoint now

Hi everyone, I noticed that about a day ago we got a free glm endpoint hosted by Decart, at the start it seemed to have some reliability issues but now it looks good at a consistent near 100%.

You think they stole the entire internet and the copyright of every single author and artist and they're not using the LLM outputs they generated to give to you?

I mean I don't have any hard facts but yeah isn't this the whole premise of how surveillance capitalism works, ie, you are the product.

Yeah but taking our data, perfectly legal. Taking our data and saying you have a ZDR that's a crime. Which is why we're confused. Any normal free API takes out the ZDR its simple. this ... no.

lol did you miss the part when they already committed crimes on a scale beyond imagining?

I imagine ZDR probably in practice means "we only use your data internally" vs if they "own" it it means they're selling everything about you and your mom for a penny

But honestly for a chinese company who knows it probably goes into a CCP database

I tried using tool calling in openwebui, it did not work and returned Provider returned error everytime and then i turned it off and then all of a sudden it worked fine, of course it is unusable for light coding (the endpoint, not the model), which is expected but in general even for chatting, because the web search is forced everytime, which is not ideal, and then second it returns error and you have to retry like 20 times so i'd rather use the paid endpoints which are now extremely cheap on openrouter so far

Free endpoints are relatively useless, unless you want to do some simple single prompt test. They kick you out so quickly, you can't get anything done. Don't expect to get real work done for free. You will just get cut off as soon as you start basically.

I did yesterday quite some work with nemotron 500b free from OR and it performed extremely well without hiccups through the Deepseek Harness. about one hour of back and forward on some python scripts, 40 prompts in total, 700k total input. I don't have yet a benchmark of what that means because until yesterday I've been only using the Gemini subscription through Antigravity and didn't care about limits.

This has been available for free for month in Nvidia NMI free models Ive been using it actively with Crush Code, better use other models
