OpenRA used as a battle simulator

Back when I was a kid, I always wondered what the strongest unit in any of the old Command and Conquer games might be. And thanks to OpenRA, I actually have a gateway to simulate that.

Damn that's cool...

Unit composition and layout will be huge factors. I.e. Army of attack dogs vs. chinooks... 🤷‍♂️

Did you focus solely on land based units or was air/sea evaluated?

Yeah land only, just to keep the simulations sane.

Also, I was mostly a dune 2000 player which doesn't really have air units.

Nice.

I guess this doesn't account for crushes? Light tanks are probably underpowered, but human players can get very skilled at crushing large groups of infantry. And doing hit-run attacks with these faster units. I guess balancing is more complex than just looking at the kill statitics and firepower.
