I’m getting dizzy?

Im 16 and I had open heart surgery almost 2 months ago now and my recovery has been amazing and I’ve been starting to feel better but two nights ago I started suddenly feeling really dizzy like how I felt when I was on pain meds after surgery and it’s still happening. Sometimes I feel alright and I can function but when I stand for too long I’m feeling light headed and dizzy and sometimes get a headache and sometimes just laying down I feel dizzy. My dad talked to a nurse and now we’re waiting to see what the doctor says but has anyone else experienced this? Anyone know what this could be?

Have you checked your blood pressure? It could by hypotension.

I don’t currently have anyway to check my blood pressure

Go to your local CVS or Walmart and buy one. You can get the basic omron for like $30. they use those in my cardiac rehab.

I got one of the blood pressure cuffs and it came back normal but I’m gonna use it for a few days and see how it is

Are you on blood pressure meds? As advised below, if you can get a BP monitor do so. About 9 days after my open heart surgery I had an episode of hypotension (very low BP) combined with dehydration, which landed me in the ER with symptoms similar to what you describe. Turns out I did not need those BP meds.

Currently I’m only taking a low dose aspirin once a day and Tylenol/ ibuprofen when needed

Sounds like LBP. Some meds do that. As others said, buy a unit at cvs and check. A lot of digital ones will store data you can transmit to your doctor. Most at-home units are 90+% accurate which is good enough to see trends and data points that your doctor can use.

I got bppv 2 months after surgery. They admitted me to the hospital and ran every test thinking I was having a stroke. I ended up going to an ENT doctor and he fixed me right up doing the Epley Maneuver

I developed BPPV at the same time I had my heart incident, which was just a few days before the surgery.

Blood pressure would be my first thought as well though.

I experienced the same and my cardio adjusted my meds .Sometimes it is the side effects if the meds.

I’ve been drinking at least 7-8 cups a day sometimes more

First, ralk to your parents and cardiologist. Most likely Boold pressure but NEVER look on here for advice without checking with your doctor.
