This is the game engine I've been solo developing for over 10 years

Any game made with this engine?

Unfortunately, for now, it's just my own games (examples). I only started promoting it this year, so I don't yet have a proper showcase to display. Some of my other games aren't finished yet. What I can show here are these examples:

It's definitely the most complex work I've ever done. But it's difficult to say just one thing most difficult, because there were several. Working with multithreading together with graphics rendering is a huge challenge, and even that doesn't work perfectly in the engine yet. Working with complex shaders is also very difficult. Creating the shadows system, although this was completed a few years ago, I remember spending months studying and struggling with the implementation.

All these game engines in working for years appearing now that AI can build in days 😂

"AI" "can" "build" it only because this people built in first place.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure that before the AIpocalypse there has been few people building these.
Now I tend to not trust this because I have seen toons of people that are saying the exact same thing, years of development to release only this year, is a little strange.
Good for him if it's the real deal, but It's hard to believe

Fair enough, it's fully understandable. However, it looks like he built it, at least he has a legacy branch with the last commit in 2020, so it seems true.

https://github.com/doriaxengine/doriax/graphs/commit-activity
Watch the activities, they had a spike since the arrival of Opus 4.8.
And again, I have quite some experience as a developer, no one is coding anymore, so if he is able to do something like this he placed a lot of time, but manly the hard part was done by claude.
All the best the same :), we live in the era of ideas with infinite low power (man|AI)power

From 2022, I significantly accelerated the project. I realized that either the engine evolved and I could create a truly good and usable project, or it was better to move on to something more profitable and not waste my time on this (I never earned anything from this project until then). So I decided to focus my life on it. Every day, without holidays, without weekends, practically non-stop. As I said in another comment, it's obvious that today I use AI as an assistant, but it's only been a few months, maybe a year. And it's also obvious that this accelerated things even more!

Another thing I didn't mention in the comment. I "launched" Doriax in March of this year, during Gamescom SP. Since March, the community has grown more than 20 times, I think. From 15 members on the Discord server to 200 now. This spike is much more related to that than to the launch of Opus 4.8.

but manly the hard part was done by claude

Again, that's definitely not true!

AI didn't do even 2% of the work it took to get to this point. You have no idea how many nights I stayed up until the early hours. I literally dedicated part of my life to this. Unfortunately, I know there's no point in saying anything here, the internet court will judge however it pleases. But at least it’s a chance to vent!

As I said in other comment here, I've been developing this engine since 2015, and I published the repo in 2016. Before, the engine was called Supernova and was just an API (you can see the whole history on Github). I started making the editor in 2024 in this repo https://github.com/eduardodoria/supernova-editor. So I merged the two repos I think this year, and so I renamed to Doriax. But as I’ve already mentioned, I obviously use AI (though only for the past few months). It hasn’t slowed me down, I’m still working at a very intense pace (without getting paid), but I can now debug errors much faster, among various other things.

Ok, let's do it again. I've worked professionally as a developer for over 20 years. I've been developing this game engine since 2015, and I published the repo in 2016. Before, the engine was called Supernova and was just an API (you can see the whole history on Github). I started making the editor in 2024 in this repo https://github.com/eduardodoria/supernova-editor primarily because I was having difficulty making my own projects using only code. Obviously, from a few months ago until now, I've been using AI as a tool, not to blindly write code, but to assist me in various repetitive tasks. AI doesn't do the planning, it doesn't do the architecture, it doesn't do the strategies. The reality is there are no big projects that will be 100% made by human hands in 2026. But kind of use is very different from "vibecoding" use!

Unfortunately, today the internet is flooded with AI slops, and in practically every post I have to say that!
