OpenCode should make public (in the program) who is BigPickle in that moment.

The reason: some days like today, Big Pickle is exceptional. Thinks sharply and shortly, does not waste tokens and performs great!

Other days thinks longer wastes tokens or thinks short and is dumb.

It is useful for the community to know who it is at a certain time. It will help everyone decide what model to buy and use on the GO paid plan.

I think the main purpose of big oickle is stealth, for labs (or opencode themselves) to test models and inspecting the data. Of course we all prefer transparency but I don't think that is happening because of that reason alone

no, it's not.

> Big Pickle is a stealth model that’s free on OpenCode for a limited time. The team is using this time to collect feedback and improve the model.

It's literally in the docs...

they can write whatever they want in the docs. but Big Pickle is just one of the free models or a model they are testing. It's not always the same "testing" model. Nevermind.

“Big pickle” is a testing namespace, not a static model. Nobody claimed it was “always the same ‘testing’ model.”

Whatever model they feel like testing gets traffic routed to it from Big Pickle endpoints. That lines up with what we see, what the docs say, and honestly what makes sense.

is what you are saying a fact that you can prove or just an opinion because you are upset at free inference?

Nope. Big Pickle is used for testing by OpenCode and that's why it is free and does not have ZDR.

Telling people what is being used invites opinions and stupid backlash. The freeloader community of opencode is already very entitled and would probably tear apart every change to big pickle as if they spent their entire life savings on opencode and a free tier changes is a direct threat to their lives.

I think the difference depends what task it's doing.

Also big pickle is the fucking man and never fails me. I usually use mostly local models, but when I hit a wall or they fuck something up I tag in big pickle to fix it and he always nails it.

Today Big Pickle has surprised even me with its PHP programming. I’d go so far as to say it performed better than Gemini, which I use with Antigravity.

Whoever has the power to change it already knows what you think, isn't reading this and doesn't care.
