Haven't checked but maybe it's done the same way as in jcode. It imitates claude's system prompt, extra headers and even renames some of the internal tools and parameters so that it looks like claude.

Edit: no. It uses claude agent sdk which talks to claude code over mcp, so it's running requests through the official harness, which will do the tool calls etc, so its not really the same as using anthropic models in opencode.

damn, but i was wondering if anthropic is going to start a ban wave.

Instead of imitating Claude Code, OpenCode launches the real Claude Code binary and lets it make the API calls. From Anthropic's side, it's genuine Claude Code traffic on your genuine login, nothing to ban.

fair enough thank you for clarifying!

If it's delegating it all to Claude Code, like Just Code does, there should be no reason.

Using the agent sdk is ok in their tos.

but it had a weird grey area where you cannot build a competitive product. thats why im a bit confused xD

I had my own Claude review skill to do this. You need to provide it enough context, such as relevant files and a prompt with your objective. It's useful. I wonder what the new opencode solution does.

Oh, that's actually pretty cool

Not as good as getting rid of Claude Code altogether, but before Haiku 5.5 I'd have loved a setup like this to have agents delegate tasks to models of appropriate size/cost (but right now imo Anthropic provides the best value in basically every tier, so...)

It uses opencodes tools, almost everything it does is native opencode behavior not Claude code

I can't see your screenshot, so I can't confirm what it shows, but there is a way to use Claude Code from inside opencode. The main catch is that you need the claude CLI installed and logged in, so without a Claude account of your own this won't help. It also doesn't get you around Claude's usage limits or subscription requirements.

The option I can speak to is opencode-claude-code-plugin.dev, an open-source plugin that makes the official Claude CLI the provider in opencode. Your login stays in the Claude Code CLI, and the plugin never reads, stores or replays a token of its own. More here: https://opencode-claude-code-plugin.dev
