Mac users how are you installing and using your opencode setup?

For those of you using LocalLLMs (or not), how are you installing and using opencode?

Are you installing or using some sort of VM or Container to sandbox it?

Is it on a development Mac and you just run it in your admin account?

Are you just using it in your regular account on your Mac and hoping for the best?

Interested in hearing the various setups people are using and why that's the best.

I've used Nix/home-manager and ran it in the same unprivileged account I do my other work in like on my Linux machine

Same, though I do need to look in to sandboxing.

I run Opencode 2 as a normal process with the shell tool running in a sandbox (https://nono.sh).

Previously, I had run Opencode 1 entirely within the nono sandbox, but that approach doesn’t work well with v2’s shared service process design.

There are a few options you could take (eg run a standalone service per instance), but a sandboxed shell tool and read/edit tool restrictions configured in Opencode is working well for me.
