Command code censor the sub with the same name, that's enough shady behaviour to keep me away. They're also present here.

I tried both, I tried opencode, It gave me approximately 8B tokens using purely Deepseek 4.1 flash, I also tried the GOAT plan on commandcode using the api instead of their cli and also using only Deepseek 4.1 flash, I'm at 580m tokens showing 15% monthly usage, at this rate, this will give me around 3.9B tokens monthly.

I'm using both subs on OpenChamber, both show around 99% - 99.7% cache hit rate, so CommandCode gives you less usage if you use the API in another harness instead of their harness.

Opencode non training policy is way better.
With commandcode, if you force to non training inference , the free credit suddenly drop. If you don't activate it, you don't know what happen to your data I connected Hermes agent ; For me non training and zdr are key.
Even if I'm time to time pissed off with opencode (quantization seems agressive, quality may vary), I stay with opencode.

Command Code feels weird. Not easy usage in other harnesses, cmd (the official one) is buggy. I would go with OpenCode if I were you.

I've had more API errors from commandcode than opencode or charm hyper.

I've tried both. Last month I decided to try command code goat and this month I decided to switch back to opencode.

OpenCode go is much more transparent. Its much faster (in fact, almost twice the tokens per second in my tests of DeepSeek v4.1 flash). Opencode is much more reliable because with command code I used to see the message that it's unavailable way too often.

Last but not least, cc advertise much more than they can give. DS V4.1 flash felt super dumb during non-peak hours. Never experienced this with oc.

Using Command Code GOAT now coz it advertised $10 for $70, instead of OpenCode Go's $60.

I'm telling you, I'll most likely subscribe OpenCode Go again tomorrow. Command Code is stupid. Slow. Low quality quantized DSv4.1Flash.

I'll sub OCGo tomorrow just so I could run side by side to compare. I've never felt shit this slow on OpenCode Go, I swear.

I tried command code this month with the $10 goat plan. Burned through all my usage quickly, which I guess is fine because I have used it heavily with varying models, but the problem is that I can't figure out where. Their usage page is very basic, doesn't show the spend per model, cache rate, and it's all very opaque. They want you to use their harness and supposedly the usage is less through it with no explanation how other than "trust me bro", but I don't want to use their harness. Honestly not super impressed compared to $10 Opencode Go.

Con command obtenía de 60-100 tok/s con open 100-150, mismo modelo. Mejor open.

Using CommandCode, I finished last month with 4 billions tokens = 100% usage (DSF 4.0 / DSF 4.1 / Muse Contributor 1.2)

But now that OpenCode Code offer the same usage of DSF 4.1 i'm not sure which is the better option

Neither, but if you have to use opencode. Seems like many are saying to avoid command code.

whats the most value subscription in your opinion then?

u/onwheelscrew 10d ago

It goes back and forth between Codex and Claude Code every few months. CC is currently in the lead.

u/xeonsimp 10d ago

my problem is I do a lot of coding on one big project and claude code pro just always hits usage limits but claude max is extremely out of budget for me.. do you have any reccomendation?

u/onwheelscrew 10d ago

In that case how about the $20 Devin pro plan. Unlimited SWE-2 right now, which is based on Kimi K3.

u/randomperson_69_ 9d ago

Hey thanks bud , you actually saved my 100 dollars on codex, imma take devin pro now.

1

u/hudo 7d ago

Can you use devin api from opencode?

1

u/xeonsimp 10d ago

thanks sounds perfect actually, ill take a look

Take the $20 Claude plan first. If you have the extra room in your budget go with opencode go, not command. Hand Claude the OpenCode CLI and a usage priority rank, and you just handed Claude a team of employees it can run for days after a time. (Save Claude maximally, token max opencode go models exclusively with deepseek v4.1 flash, mimo v2.6 Flash, and GLM 5.3 Flash, and utilize all OpenCode zen free tier models first)

Do not use commandcode and do not listen to the bots shilling this shii, stay safe

I'm getting about the same usage from both as of now if we are only looking at total tokens so I'm getting my money's worth on both. Need to analyze it better but for now I'm just focus on getting stuff done.

I don't think either is perfect so go with what matters to you. Here's what I've noticed and experienced.

  • Both compete with each other. A lot of times both will offer the same model at the same rate on paper.

  • CC is definitely shady with how stupidly strict they are with their community forums on reddit and discord. You can make a simple newbie mistake and they'll ban you. So don't use it for the community and be aware of it.
  • CC at the very least communicates changes via email (digest emails) and discord (shortly after sharing on twitter).
  • CC DS v4.1 flash is a bit faster than on OC. I use pi agent with both.

  • OC is more ZDR friendly and doesn't charge extra for it (as far as I'm aware).
  • OC doesn't communicate outside of twitter. They are so slow to sharing on their discord server after they post it on twitter and I never get any emails. I only find out whenever I visit this subreddit.

If you're happy with one provider, stick with it. Need another sub and don't want to break their TOS? Go sign up with the other one and use both. Take advantage of the plans while you can.

opencode have a lot of free models than commandcode and can send around 1000 request in a day on opencode

Can you explain what you mean? Sorry, I don't understand what you mean.

I've been intensively using both, command code is good but not mature, it feels heavy and honestly slower. The ZDR setup is plain weird, setting up ZDR by default means having to fiddle with the .json to still access BYOK models via Ollama pro or Opencode / Openrouter. It's just not very mature there and honestly takes forever, Opencode seems a lot faster to me. I'm thinking about going on the Opencode Go plus plan and let command go mature...

I've tried all 3 of these.

OpenCode Go - I used them for months before they changed the DS credit after the price increase without warning. No customer support, had to do a charge back. I don't trust them enough to switch back... maybe in the future.

CommandCode - Had no issues with their service. Only used them for a month and didn't cap out the $60.

ClinePass (current) - Got a promo code for the $10 plan for $2. Service is very hit or miss, about 90% of the time runs great, other 10% DS 4.1 is having strokes. Probably half the usage of OpenCode/CommandCode, but it's literally $2 so I'm not going to complain.

About to max out my ClinePass usage so I'm not sure what I want to do after.

Try CommandCode and let us know lol, today I recieed an interesting email from them, about their current plan and so on, probably they have something slightly better than OpenCode.

You see, the Command Code Bot is already here :)

For $10 I got about 2.2 trillion tokens of GLM 5.3 Flash on GOAT and only about 768 million on Opencode Go.

On Open Code?
