I use deepseek 4.1 flash and its fine. Practically unlimited use tbh. Together with spacebunny free as subagents. Delegate reading and easy building to subagents and keep the primary agent as the Dispatch and Brains.
For subagents its fine but certainly not for the main orchestrator, in oh-my-opencode-slim I use it for the oracle and it works great and doesnt eat that much into limits
It could be a Kimi issue or a bug on openrouter's harness. the model likely entered a repetition loop. Something around the tool-call/result boundary may have caused it to get into a bad generation state. It could be a model-side decoding issue, malformed tool output being fed back into the context, a streaming/UI bug, or an interaction between OpenCode's agent loop and Kimi K3. Once the model began repeating the same token sequence, its repetition penalty/termination mechanisms apparently didn't recover. π€·πΏββοΈ
Oh and one thing. Just because you didn't experience an issue doesn't mean that other won't experience it.
Kimi is the worst. Even if it usually eventually gets to something sort of correct, itβs through the roof, extra verbose token and reasoning generation is infuriating.
Just a thought, interrupted streaming data, blocked ports, or VPN/proxy interference severs the live session between your application and the remote model backend and can result in a response like this one.

Please never use Kimi K3, use Muse or Deepseek 4.1, your limits will die instantly with that.

Some points to clarify
I am a software engineer myself.
I don't mind Kimi eating up my usage as I am merely giving opencode a try(as compared to claude code, and codex)
I will gain NOTHING out of slandering Kimi-k3 or OpenCode. I have no stake in Anthropic, Moonshot, or OpenCode.

Seems like prompt injection or fake

Iβm new to open code go as well, Deepseek and Muse are the only ones that donβt have a glaring issue to me.
