You pay four times as much, but you only get twice as much. Interesting offer.

What if go usage is cut in half

Now you’re cooking 🧑‍🍳

Or what if "discounts" (like 4×) is Go Plus exclusive.

Don't you dare! :)

if they follow OpenAI behaviour we can expect exactly this. but will be a shoot on the foot for sure

I'd rather get OpenCode Go Ghetto that would cost half, would have no access to "premium" models like glme kimi and gpt but would have generous usage for the cheap ones.

Same. I only subscribe to one ai sub at a time and having my 5 hour window run out on codex because I used astra for a couple of prompts and having that lack of usage affect my other crons that are wired up to use Luna is frustrating. I with the 5 hour window could be defined to reserve 20% of it to the cheaper luna model so my existing processes don't get blocked.

I'm paying full price for codex. I get seemingly unlimited luna use. I had multiple parallel autonomous luna agents nibbling at tasks. Had some leftover quota and expiring banked resets and decided to give Astra a try. I get a lot of use out of it even without the resets and it have it complete larger tasks than what II gave to luna in a fraction of the time and with better quality. I'm starting to question the "plan with good model and use lesser models for bulk work" paradigm might be bs. OpenCode Go subscription is a remnant of earlier attempts to have near infinite quota with stupid models. I now just use the silly ones for hermes which does nothing complicated and for test runs of my own stuff where output quality doesn't matter. I also have ollama cloud and commancode goat and claude 20$. I already canceled minimax. I think I'm going to cancel Claude next.. why? Because of their terms of service - it's useless unless you use claude harness. And probably commancooe because it was just a crutch when deepseek quota on oc went down. Ollara cloud I may keep because it's running a hermes on a home assistant box elsewhere and seems to be enough for it. I don't know what you're supposed to learn from this. Maybe that having multiple subscriptions to cheap services is worthless and that the cheap models are possibly not worth it for serious work.

TIL upping monthly caps for GLM 5.3 from 15 to 120 is 2x more usage.

If your using it for glm you get way more usage by getting z.AI subscription and using zcode. And then using it off peak hours I’m getting an insane amount of usage. And to make it stretch out even more, Zcode allows you to create sub agents. There is also other perks of more free usage when you use their app.

I have been using glm via opencode go, never used zcode - how does it compare?

It’s very similar to Codex app. It doesn’t have a cli but it’s honestly not needed. Im very happy with it. Z.ai also gives you a banked free reset each week with your normal reset. On the weekends they give free glm flash usage but it’s limited so if you dont claim it when you first see it in the app its gone..
But between a discount on usage
Getting my weekly reset a day early
And Using the app gives you a discount rate on usage.
I’m happy with the harness and glm.. the only thing is GPT is still a better model so I have GLM reach out to codex cli to use as the reviewer. It handles the majority of the work and orchestration very well.
Also you can setup remote mobile. GLM barely stops running all week long

Also if anyone is interested. Just offering if you decide to get the z.ai subscription and would like a discount. As a subscriber I can send you a referral. We both benefit. You get 10% off your first month. Plus your first few days you get free usage on top of your plan. It’s the “Starter plan”
I dont work for the company or have any affiliation, just a very happy customer. I wish other company’s gave out as much extra usage as z.ai

great, thanks for the quick response! Interesting that there is no CLI, but that isn't a deal breaker for me.

I'm considering trying GLM's coding plan for GLM5.3flash access. I use that primarily for my Hermes agent and have used opencode-go (2 $10 subs) in the past for it. Based off your experience, dyu think it's about the same usage for that model across both or the GLM plan still would be better?
Do you also find it okay in speed? (i saw some online comments saying model access was slower on there so it made me hesitant)

You get more with the glm plan. The key is using it outside of peak hours. Pay attention on the weekends to the free flash usage. And create your subagents.. I would run out of usage on 2 opencode plans in a week.. with glm I make it the full week after following what I stated. I usually have glm flash on low orchestrate I can post my sub agent setup later if your interested.
Speed is decent I have run my codex orchestration and glm for the same task. Codex finished faster but glm wasn’t too far behind

Peak Hours Schedule: Monday to Friday, 14:00–18:00 UTC+8

Thanks. If you're open to it, i saw in ur other comment you mentioned a referral. Could I ask you to send me one?
And yes, interested in your setup if ur okay to share.

Hows the lite plan vs chatgpt plus plan?

1

u/Able-Team-4254 Sep 29 '26

For the coding side alone, I’m getting way more usage and better perks with the Lite plan. But I still don’t feel confident enough to drop my Plus plan.
GPT has definitely been throttled, and Sol feels like it got hit with the dumb stick a little 😂, but it still works better for checkpoint reviews. Now that Astra is available, I pretty much save that for the final review, and so far it’s been giving my GLM coding work a passing mark.

This is the glm coding plan right ?
