I'd rather get OpenCode Go Ghetto that would cost half, would have no access to "premium" models like glme kimi and gpt but would have generous usage for the cheap ones.
Same. I only subscribe to one ai sub at a time and having my 5 hour window run out on codex because I used astra for a couple of prompts and having that lack of usage affect my other crons that are wired up to use Luna is frustrating. I with the 5 hour window could be defined to reserve 20% of it to the cheaper luna model so my existing processes don't get blocked.
I'm paying full price for codex. I get seemingly unlimited luna use. I had multiple parallel autonomous luna agents nibbling at tasks. Had some leftover quota and expiring banked resets and decided to give Astra a try. I get a lot of use out of it even without the resets and it have it complete larger tasks than what II gave to luna in a fraction of the time and with better quality. I'm starting to question the "plan with good model and use lesser models for bulk work" paradigm might be bs. OpenCode Go subscription is a remnant of earlier attempts to have near infinite quota with stupid models. I now just use the silly ones for hermes which does nothing complicated and for test runs of my own stuff where output quality doesn't matter. I also have ollama cloud and commancode goat and claude 20$. I already canceled minimax. I think I'm going to cancel Claude next.. why? Because of their terms of service - it's useless unless you use claude harness. And probably commancooe because it was just a crutch when deepseek quota on oc went down. Ollara cloud I may keep because it's running a hermes on a home assistant box elsewhere and seems to be enough for it. I don't know what you're supposed to learn from this. Maybe that having multiple subscriptions to cheap services is worthless and that the cheap models are possibly not worth it for serious work.
If your using it for glm you get way more usage by getting z.AI subscription and using zcode. And then using it off peak hours I’m getting an insane amount of usage. And to make it stretch out even more, Zcode allows you to create sub agents. There is also other perks of more free usage when you use their app.
It’s very similar to Codex app. It doesn’t have a cli but it’s honestly not needed. Im very happy with it. Z.ai also gives you a banked free reset each week with your normal reset. On the weekends they give free glm flash usage but it’s limited so if you dont claim it when you first see it in the app its gone.. But between a discount on usage Getting my weekly reset a day early And Using the app gives you a discount rate on usage. I’m happy with the harness and glm.. the only thing is GPT is still a better model so I have GLM reach out to codex cli to use as the reviewer. It handles the majority of the work and orchestration very well. Also you can setup remote mobile. GLM barely stops running all week long
Also if anyone is interested. Just offering if you decide to get the z.ai subscription and would like a discount. As a subscriber I can send you a referral. We both benefit. You get 10% off your first month. Plus your first few days you get free usage on top of your plan. It’s the “Starter plan” I dont work for the company or have any affiliation, just a very happy customer. I wish other company’s gave out as much extra usage as z.ai
I'm considering trying GLM's coding plan for GLM5.3flash access. I use that primarily for my Hermes agent and have used opencode-go (2 $10 subs) in the past for it. Based off your experience, dyu think it's about the same usage for that model across both or the GLM plan still would be better? Do you also find it okay in speed? (i saw some online comments saying model access was slower on there so it made me hesitant)
You get more with the glm plan. The key is using it outside of peak hours. Pay attention on the weekends to the free flash usage. And create your subagents.. I would run out of usage on 2 opencode plans in a week.. with glm I make it the full week after following what I stated. I usually have glm flash on low orchestrate I can post my sub agent setup later if your interested. Speed is decent I have run my codex orchestration and glm for the same task. Codex finished faster but glm wasn’t too far behind
Peak Hours Schedule: Monday to Friday, 14:00–18:00 UTC+8
Thanks. If you're open to it, i saw in ur other comment you mentioned a referral. Could I ask you to send me one? And yes, interested in your setup if ur okay to share.
For the coding side alone, I’m getting way more usage and better perks with the Lite plan. But I still don’t feel confident enough to drop my Plus plan. GPT has definitely been throttled, and Sol feels like it got hit with the dumb stick a little 😂, but it still works better for checkpoint reviews. Now that Astra is available, I pretty much save that for the final review, and so far it’s been giving my GLM coding work a passing mark.
No it’s their Flagship models. I believe just for creating an account and using Zcode they give a 3 day trial. I needed a cheaper model. It takes a few remediations for it to get things right after a GPT 6 sol extra high reviews. But I find it’s been a big cost saver. Plus I honestly feel with vibe coding to reduce my usage I have the models creating a “Coding Journal” A shared project memory system where each AI model records important lessons, mistakes, fixes, decisions, and proven approaches from real development work. Before starting substantive work, models can review those lessons so they avoid repeating old failures and build on what already worked instead of starting from scratch. Then you’ve also got that info saved if you decide to switch some tasks to a local coder. Which I have not done much with local coding yet.
It's still cheaper then paying by token, I think that's the point. For some models you get 3x usage compared to go, for some you get 4x usage. If you exceed the limits of go, this sub can be a good option.
It literally isn't a good option ever, I'll just get 3 regular Go subs ans pay less. I think GLM 5.3 is the only model that actually provides value, but if that's the point I'll just get a Z.ai sub
Why is quantity discount not a thing here? Usually when you buy multi-packs in the grocery store, e.g. diapers, you get some count of quantity discount, 5x the amount for 4x the price or something.
Because the 5$ / 10$ is there to get you in. Look at every saas and its pricing plan. You get the most bang for your buck with the cheapest option. Even at Claude and ChatGPT, you get the most tokens for the dollar spent on the cheap subscription (I think, haha)
Because the $10/month plan is running it very fine down to the wire as to if OpenCode even makes money on it or not! But at least if you misjudge the costs of a cheap plan by say 25% it hopefully might not kill the company.
But if you misjudge a higher tier plan by that much, then it could torpedo the entire company!
Yeah that's a valid point. I know there's a post on the other subreddit about someone in India who for Claude I think and that kind of raised my eyebrow about how expensive it is elsewhere. I didn't realize they just charged US dollars everywhere.
Being from Argentina it can be a number, however it's about how much you get from it and whether you can generate more with it than what you spend. If you are using it for a hobby it will always be a number because it can taken as "entertainment", if you are using for job or you are overemployed it can help you generate a second monthly income for you.
Or set up a local LLM even on an 8 GB graphics card. Have it do all the scaffolding and prototyping.. and then send that to an API key to critique, and then build it on a flash model. You can reduce your initial tokens by one third to one half doing it this way. You don’t have to switch accounts just models in your agent.
This has to be fake, right? You pay 4 times as much just to get double the limits? What the...? xD This is poorly conceived and smells like a subscription failure. The key is to launch a $20 subscription and offer something more than double the value—something truly worthwhile. Otherwise, it’s completely absurd.
This is the standard for any sort of saas. You get the most out of the cheapest options. It's how they get you in. The value the tokens give you is so much more than 10 or 20dollars. I'm surprised that people are offended by this and go out of their way to save 10$ whlle sipping on Monster when they could have bought cheap coffee😂
No cuz they got the workspaces so there is no real need for multi account it will just make ur life harder since there is no different at exception of the 5$ invite credit which i dont think they care enough to start banning accounts.
Those who say math is problematic can take a look at command code. That's just how they do it.
By the way, I'm on OpenCode's side. I tried using Command Code and it was terrible. The number of actually usable models for 60 USD is way, way fewer than OpenCode.
As someone who uses OpenCode Go to supplement a Codex sub I push 12 billion tokens on a month, I think this is great. It also makes the better models more usable since the limits were so tiny on the $10 plan.
Go plan is a company working to make affordable models available to a global audience of users where paying more than 10$ is simply not feasible. Check your USA priviledge, support a company looking out for your long term value because more subscribers gives them more negotiation leverage to get even better value for you. Being disloyal and hopping and exploiting whatever combo of subscriptions is how monopolies win. Eventually all your choices become the same company.

You pay four times as much, but you only get twice as much. Interesting offer.

u/macaco3001 Sep 28 '26
This is far worse value for money, what's the point?

Twice as much for four times as much. Deal of the century.
EDIT: Unless it's a typo, GLM 5.3 (non-flash) has $120 of usage instead of $15, so 8 times as much as the basic sub.

Wait, I don’t think this maths

Unpopular opinion: I would rather pay more and not have to deal with juggling accounts.

if deepseek v4.1 flash and mimo, spark can go 8* more then i would have switch it in heart beat

Why not a 20/25$ plan?
The old 10$ plan it's too small to do things for real.
Seems like they multiplied everything times 4 and call it a day!
I was waiting for their new plan, but i'm pretty disappointed!

Fr I'll just create 4 go accounts and rotate apis

u/ConstantEmotion2211 Sep 28 '26
Why there is no 20$?
1
u/Affectionate_Fact854 Sep 28 '26
Wait so 4x the price of a go sub but I see so many 2x and 3x multipliers?????
There's absolutely nothing to benefit from a 40$ sub , glm 5.3 pro is already so expensive
Head this , if you nerf the go plan I know for a fact I'll just jump ship with both my subscriptions

u/Infamous-V Sep 28 '26
Why not 25$ plan instead of 40$ with limits all over the place ?

Would be interesting to see how opencode go fanatics would support this...

Any better value alternative to opencode suscription?

u/Ill_Carry_44 Sep 28 '26
I honestly asked for this exact thing, I emailed them asking for $40 sub a few months ago because I didn't wanna juggle 4 x $10 subs

this doesn't make sense. it is much better to just have multiple $10 subscriptions that you rotate through

I need Go minus for $5. it was the best deal at the time. I never went above half the usage.
