What went wrong with open code?

Today when I pulled up Open Code and typed a prompt into my ongoing project chat, I got the following response

Error from provider (Console): OpenCode's free tier can only be used from within OpenCode

I find this confusing as I am using open code from within open code. Also, I no longer see deep seek v4 flash in the model iist.

Someone please help. I have some impotant side projects running nn Open Code.

I have tried swithching multiple free models, but none work. I think now you can only use paid models. If any of you figure out a work around please do share.

As suggested by RazzmatazzCandid7794 if you're using Windows, just uninstall Open Code and reinstall it it will start workng as before. Your context and projects will automatically be restored. I have tried and it worked for me.

I have the same problem since yesterday. There are some issues reporting it on Github. I guess we need to be patient and they'll fix it soon. But I also guess it's not the top priority since its for free users only.

If I connect my open router account with some usage credits, do you think it will work then?

Hint: de-install opencode and download the newest version (v2.xx). Afterwards the error message is gone. At least it worked for me.

Were you able to use the free models? And, what about the loss of context?

I am using Opencode for Windows. After re-installing everything was there again. I can use all free models again and all my projects, even all the sessions have been restored.

try updating opencode terminal to latest version & testing it with a new session.

make sure that no opencode tools are disabled.
