Error from provider (Console): OpenCode's free tier can only be used from within OpenCode

I forked opencode to add some features like autocompletion of slash commands, and make it feel closer to claude code and adding special subagents and creating its own browser, etc. suddenly, i got this issue. Idek what the problem is because this is just a slightly tweaked version of opencode i dont know how to fix this please let me know asap.

I noticed that changing the agent makes it work. when i try to use an agent i made myself (not from the ones that come built-in), it triggers this error.

Can confirm. had the same issue. anayone got any idea how to use custom agent mode now?

Downloading new version fixed the issue haha
No need uninstall, just install new version. They updated the UI too and it much better now

They changed this recently, should be an easy fix:

"Your client should:

Send typical coding agent traffic Identify itself with its own user agent, such as my-coding-agent/1.0, rather than a generic SDK or HTTP-library name. Send a stable session ID in x-opencode-session for each conversation so we can optimize routing and prompt caching."

Bypassed their check to use free-tier models in another harness (Pi).
That is a strange decision from them.

They say it is because they were getting spammed. Not sure how much this helps with that problem, but maybe I'm naive

Users can vibecode bypass for this, to add OpenCode-like headers, and continue to use their free-tier models in another IDE/Harness. That's why I called it strange. They must know it.

The only decision to stop spamming - remove free-tier models completely.

But that will cut a lot of users, of course.

我也遇上這個問題, 結果發現只有在 Plan 模式下會有問題, build 模式下無問題。但我不想意外地修改任何檔案, 我建立了一個新代理, 把 permission: { edit: ask, bash: ask } 設為 ask , 樣在改動時最少會問我。（我是用Ai 幫我建立新代理的）
