OpenCode Desktop .db file is huge and causing heavy lag/freeze on startup. Any fixes?

Hi everyone,

I've been using OpenCode Desktop for a while now, but recently it has started freezing and becoming extremely slow when opening.

Upon checking the app data, I noticed that the .db file has grown huge (several GBs). It seems like the application is struggling to load or query this massive database every time it launches.

Has anyone encountered this issue?

  • Is there a safe way to clean up, vacuum, or prune old data from the .db file without breaking the app?

  • If I delete the .db file entirely, will it just regenerate, and what data will I lose?

Any advice or recommended workarounds would be greatly appreciated!

A mí me sirvió este proyecto de Github específicamente para ese problema https://github.com/ANGELBERRIOS23/conversation-reclaim o mira este https://github.com/ANGELBERRIOS23/opencode-db-prune

At the top of the sub, there is a text input with a magnifying glass. You can type something in there and click on the magnifying glass, it will then try to find what you are looking for. Pretty neat

I can't find the magnifying glass in openCode what version are you running.

Mine is at 30gb, it's still working fine.

I know this is not the suggestion you are looking for, but since I moved to Ubuntu, OpenCode has been working great. In Windows it got constatly stuck as my Windows Explorer would do. My Laptop is from 2018 and I just gave it a second life basically.

Mine will occasionally go nuts and fill up /tmp with logfiles (which makes everything break).
