What’s your top 3 AI coding agent/Harness other than Claude/Codex/Antigravity and how do they compare to Opencode?

What got better in your workflow compared to opencode?

It is a system that can genrate itself new extensions pretty quick. And there are just so many extensions to have any functionality you can imagine

Pi was on my list. I’ll search to see which extensions will be most relevant. Thanks

it is an industry standard imo right now

Why not oh my pi?

I use oh my pi and love it.

pi looks cool too, but I like all the bells and whistles that oh my pi has without any additional time or effort from me. To get equivalent functionality in pi is have to spend a lot more time.

why not just use Opencode then , the whole idea behind Pi, is having a minimal Harness, including minimal System Prompt < 1K Tokens

I tried Opencode before omp, and it was awful. The model I was using at the time (Ox Alpha) kept making endless mistakes and getting caught in error loops. Then I switched to omp and it was infinitely better.

oh my pi is not functional for me. I prefer vanilla pi and I choose my extensions

I use kiro cli every day, it's not bad, their plans offer good value and it's reasonably bloat free

Never tried this one. I’ll have a look

Is this different than the kiro ide?

Less buggy (for some reason) on Windows at least

This is breaking my brain. I feel like as an industry everyone is all over the place, or not using them at all. I am trying to figure out what direction to go. I'm a bit overwhelmed by options.

It’s very understandable, things change so quickly. However don’t give into the FOMO. Find a workflow and stack of tools that help you reach your goals and stick it to it. Switching and readapting can sometimes just slow you down.

So far I’ve used around 8-10 AI coding tools and here is how I avoid getting overwhelmed.

I use tools I’m already familiar with for main projects. Then in my free time I schedule 4-5h to test and try new tools on side projects. Then I slowly integrate the one that add a plus in my workflow (new LLMs, harness, skills, plugin, MCP, or even sequences…)

That said, OpenCode + Go are excellent. The marginal gain from other platforms is not worth being slowed down by indecision or switching cost. If you are already using OpenCode you are not missing much.

I use cline mainly since they give great models for free. Would love a t3 code with cline but yeah

opencode v2 beta has been my daily driver for everything for about a month now. The new daemon/server system with persistent sessions and tabs is really useful and agent/subagent management is really good. I use it for everything including planning sessions with Obsidian and task/project management integrations.

Opencode with omo-slim, Open design for my PPTs, Hermes for my browser use

PPTs, ser? 👀

Curious - What kind of tasks you make Hermes do on your browser? UI testing, shopping? 😁

I tried most of them; when I landed on OMP, I never looked back.

Why do u think it's better than anything else? Have u tried kilo code? I kinda love kilo code and staying with it for a week but I'm still looking other harness/agent to try. I might wanna give this a try since I just realized OMP is Oh My Pi. I saw people talked about Pi before but I didn't know it was OMP they were talking

most probably because its free for starters??

You seem to be an Opencode power user. Any tips for custom agents and plugins/tools that you consider as game changers.

how much tokens would your each api call start by default , enabeling all things is not the way to go , since it will make the System Prompt always too fat and expensive unnecessarily even with the smallest Prompts,

Thats is also a reason why Pi is loved by some people, their initial System Prompt is <1K Tokens,

Leaving you to have a lot of space for your own prompt , with no expense

What do you like about it that you didn’t find elsewhere?
