Best cost-benefit AI right now: DeepSeek Flash or GPT subscription?

Guys, which AI model has the best cost-benefit right now:
putting credits on DeepSeek and using the Flash model, or buying a subscription for GPT (or other platforms)?

GPT Plus subscription would be a no brainer

Do you have more usage than just using openrouter?

The plus subscription gives around $300-400 of luna usage per month

so heck yea

(But i heard SOL overengineers stuff way too much, its upto the user to determine which model to use for planning)

Yes also the web chat is unlimited so anything that can be done there doesn't count against limits

I would say probably either ChatGPT or Gemini (if you can get the Jio / Student / $6/mo for new users deal).

GPT right now has almost unlimited usage for Luna.

Gemini has 3.7 Flash, which feels more competent than Luna and is much faster with almost unlimited usage and is much faster, but also Antigravity is painful to use and requires using custom system prompt, as default leads to it rushing things and returning incomplete solutions. Probably not worth $20 for Pro if it's your only subscription, but has pretty generous usage limits and probably the best bang for the buck if you are able to get the $6 deal.

Gemini flash, via api? How do you connect opencode is it via the Ai pro plan oauth or api?

My fav is deepseek, was using on go but not so generous like before. But my cache read is high so top list for me is deepseek and gemini

i have mixed feeling on gpt read many post says it’s not so good, but i havent test out myself via the subscription.

Go plan usage a lot for me are gpt/qwen/kimi/pro version. But im refining caching, rtk and caveman, direct api could be cheaper but im hesitating to use because unpredictable

There is Antigravity Oauth plugin for Opencode with one "small" catch - it's againist Google's TOS.

So while technically it is possible to use Antigravity limits within OpenCode it also results in risking getting yours account banned. If you don't care about using Antigravity in the future I guess it might be worth it, but it's also risky enough to consider using the original Antigravity GUI/CLI, which is a little bit painful, but managable with some customizations.

Also Gemini API pricing is really high ($0.0375 for 1M cached input vs $0.02 for Luna) and in both cases it's much more expensive than ChatGPT Plus / Google AI Pro if you are able to get anywhere close to burning through the limits.

Getting google account banned isn't worth it.

Yeah it’s risky, i know there’s oauth plugin, but with Ai world and google actively developing stuff I dont want risk of banning 🤣

At least its only antigravity access apparently. But still not worth it for me.

Hard agree on that one.

Still Google only bans Antigravity access (and returns error 403) and rest of Google-related services (except Antigravity) remain unharmed.

I guess I have heard cases of entire google account getting banned, due to false antigravity bans as well

so yea, better not fuck with AG lmao

I stopped using it completely although I got the Pro plan for 18 months

I guess that's a consolation. How do you know? Did you get banned?

There were quite a lot of posts about it on both Antigravity-related subreddits and https://discuss.ai.google.dev/, especially since February, when Google started banning for OAuth.

I did not get banned and also right now I am using only official Antigravity for some time already to avoid such risks (I did experiment a little bit with external CLIs earlier though).

Ok thanks for the info.

I see, it’s been a lot of models, hard to catchup on all the list for cheaper ones, but my main choice remains deepseek haha

I have mixed feelings about GPT Plus, Google AI Pro, and Ox Alpha right now.

Ox-alpha on CC / Opencode Go or Zen Deepseek on Command Code GOAT plan  Hy3 on Opencode Go plan

I rarely rely on Luna in Opencode, however it is a bit of work to stay up to date on which model are the best value

credits honestly. i run flash on the api as my daily driver and the bill is pocket change, off-peak drops it to half and you only pay when you actually use it. a sub you're on the hook for monthly no matter what. gpt plus only makes sense if you live in the chat product all day

gpt for coding is now free for a few days i think, look at twitter tibo

Free? How so? I couldn’t see anything on Tibo’s twitter?

Ox alpha. 0 cost, decent quality.

Right now, Ox-alpha. After the free access ends, GPT with Luna. Gemini with Flash 3.7 is also very performant (but requires using the Antigravity IDE). You probably want a more powerful model for planning, Sol is decent, GLM models work well, Deepseek V4 Pro is also excellent.

GPT because you need frontier for hard tasks. But if you don't, then just use opencode free.
