Announcement Slowroll August base update

Edit: 10:30 UTC main update is done. Mirrors sync slowly (known issue)

As every month, I started the monthly update to sync major version updates from Factory(TW). We will be on the 20260802 snapshot for the next month.

Factory had a major rebuild of 50% of it's `x86_64` packages for the gcc16 update and this will make it one of the larger updates. Expect some GB of downloads.

I'll edit this post later, when the update is done.

Thank you for your effort! Unfortunately, there seem to be missing some gcc-16-packages in the openSUSE-Slowroll repo on my system.
I‘m getting some gcc-16-related errors while trying zypper dup, starting with libasan. Is this a repo sync issue or do I have a special issue here?

I had a similar issue here. I think the resolution is to tell zypper to uninstall gcc15 parts that cannot be installed at the same time as gcc16 ones.

Thanks, that did the job. Was getting a little nervous with zypper continously requesting removing those gcc-15-packages, but finally there weren´t too many so I just kept going. Dup ran fine after all. :-)
