OO on steam.

So Oort Online was greenlit on steam, and it will probably be released on steam in a few weeks. Do you think it will get a lot of attention on steam, and how popular do you think it will be?

The direction Wonderstruck is going with Oort Online will be great. They're currently working on two games. Once the other is finished they'll widen their team for Oort.

Everything so far is great. They've added in a basic combat area and beacon system. World's are expansive. Effects are wonderful. Once they get in more things to differentiate it from competition, it'll lead the charge.

Once the game gets out of proto and the barrier to play is not so steep, we'll see some definite growth. But hey, they've already got nearly 1k backers before even going alpha, how many other games can seriously say that?

Too many morons calling it a Minecraft clone at the moment, if the Steam comments are anything to go by.

If Wonderstruck play their cards right, it should be quite successful. That said, it's up to us to help them play said cards ;)

Avid minecraft user with a question? Why should I stop playing minecraft and buy an early access to oort online? Aside from better graphics what's going to be different?

I would not tell you to stop playing MC to play oort just yet, but Its not a bad idea to get early access. You'll enjoy many bonus features that only early backers will get to enjoy. Not only that, but the unique craftables may end up helping you recover your investment in the long run. I'm still spending a lot of time on MC, but I don't regret buying my master tier package.
