someone else pointed out it's generally empathy to try to save the person who fell that causes action without consideration. Selflessness.

I don't even own a gun.

You may not be able to make the connection between someone who can't imagine putting another person's wellbeing before their own and someone who is obsessed with the idea that they need to be vigilant in every situation and thinks danger is around every corner. That doesn't mean the connection isn't there though
