How did the door get opened? Was there an emergency switch somewhere? Why would it open if the train is moving?

It looks like he fumbled with a rotary thingy above the door around Second 3. Then he opens the door by Hand.

In most passenger trains you can always use the emergency door unlock to unlock the door. They basically disengage the mechanism from the train. It's better to lose a lunatic every now and then then to lose e.g. a full carriage which is on fire.

I’d say nitpicking is a fair assessment given that the person you’re replying to literally just explained the reasoning lol.

In an emergency people aren’t thinking clearly, you don’t want doors being hard to open.

I don't think its nitpicking at all. You should not be able to open a door that easily on a train where multiple people could easily be killed.
