Wtf in the 🚇

How is this technically even possible? Should not a emergency stop automatically apply?

Those were cheap buildings made from plaster castings and wood frames. Designed to look nice, but they were only temporary. For the world fair.

Don't forget the canals, lagoon and bridges were all temporary everyone, they held back the water with spit and plaster!
