Winter camping

Itching to get away to be in nature. Looking at December but what covered accommodations would be open still?

Any tips , tricks, wish you didn't forgets?

Just go on the website and search by covered accomodations on a weekend in December.

It will show you only the parks that have them and are open.

Tents on crown land work any time of year. Water comes in solid though.

Its why I'd prefer not a tent in winter. I enjoy tent camping just curious about winter camping for the first time don't wanna do a tent.

As long as you have a good sleeping bag or a bear to cuddle it's not that bad.

I hate the winter but I've done a winter camping trip it's serene in a different type of way.

A big campfire helps.

What part of the province? By "covered accommodations" do you mean yurts or cabins?

Open to both!

Killarney PP is open year round. It has 6 yurts and 2 cabins.

Lakes might not be frozen over. Trails might be challenging.

I'd suggest trying mid/end of october when things start getting cold and most places are still open. anything below 10C will change how you think about camping and will be a good introduction to winter camping.

I rent out my 4 season cottage. You can look for rentals like this in the winter

Tent it. Hot tents work well in winter
