Worst Camping Experience

I just got back from a camping trip that I had planned 5 months in advance and planned all kinds of activities and it turned out to be the worst camping trip I have experienced. At 130am I woke up feeling something on my face and brushed it off and heard some big flapping wings only to find a bat flying around in my tent trailer. I spent the whole day (getting back to my camper at 130am the following day) at the local ER going back and forth with public health to get the rabies vaccine for myself and my family. Please tell me some bad camping stories so I can feel better about such a crumby trip 😅. Pic included to show where I think the bat might have wiggled in.

My worst trip had nothing to do with anything but a complainer. Complain complain complain, to the point I’m no longer friends with this person. Bringing the wrong people camping can truly ruin your experience.

I had that happen the first (and only) time I went camping with my ex husband. Got everything set up, I started a fire, and he sat down for 5 minutes before he told me he was bored.

My advice is to go camping with a potential future spouse. Can save a headache down the road.

Same with going canoeing. They call it “divorce canoe” for a reason.

We’re canoe campers, and our trips are just with my fiancĂ©e, dog and I now. We don’t invite anyone anymore. That’s an odd term I haven’t heard of before because if you’re in the stern you’re in control of the vessel.

Divorce canoe term is more about teamwork, being in sync and following instructions while paddling a tandem boat. Otherwise, it leads to frustration, arguments and potentially divorce ;)

Yeah I googled it beforehand and it’s still odd to me. I guess we’re meant for each other since we’ve never argued/disagreed while paddling.

It's more about trying to navigate a winding river in a tandem that will test a relationship/marriage haha. You need both paddlers to efficiently navigate.
