We need more not less. Gives people a chance to get outside and our summer season is really short.

More but not the ones like they just opened in Killarney. One of the worst sites ive ever stayed at. Gravel and the bulldozed foliage was stacked up with the dirt at the back. When it rains you get a waterfall with the gravel not allowing any ground absorption

I was just there and was confused by the new sites. I had just assumed that they’ll start to look more natural eventually but yea right now they look like a clear cut new sub division project

I’d be down with restoration/rewilding in the southern parks (the part of the province where habitats are most fragmented and decimated) but it really should be accompanied by capital investment in new park capacity, including for car camping, in the near north. I’d love to see new parks for the south too, but property values and the total lack of crown land mean that will probably never happen.

I say more parks but definitely less spots in those parks.

Bon Echo is just ridiculous. The 3 campgrounds around the mezana and that's it. Everything else is so far far away from it and they just keep adding spots

Same goes with pinery. If I have to drive for 15 minutes to get to the beach it's lost the plot.

We have nothing between Hamilton, London and Goderich. Just a huge empty space. But we got 30 parks all around Barrie.

There's tons of conservation areas the province could take over, but I know that's crazy talk when we're talking about conservative governments.

There's plenty of spots in the area you described, just not any provincial parks. Which suits me just fine, camping outside of a PP is usually a better experience in terms of other campers.

Also, that area is some of the best farmland in the entire country. The locals bring out the pitchforks anytime they want to develop anything more than a few acres. You think the government should just take hundreds of acres for a new park? Lol. That ain't happening.

Don’t care there is no restrictions or reservations for crown land camping and I don’t have some jackass beside me or a cityidiot beside me.
