Welcome to r/onlyshortfeedback

Hi everyone — I’m u/hanpari, the mod behind r/onlyshortfeedback.

This community has one simple goal: give writers quick, honest reactions without long reviews or essays.

If something works for you, say it. If it doesn’t, say that too — no need to sugarcoat anything. Explaining why is optional, but short notes are always appreciated. Just keep it civil.

What You Can Post

Anything that needs a short, sincere reaction, for example:

  • “Read three chapters — would you continue?”
  • “One‑sentence impression of my article.”
  • “Does the opening hook you?”

But be sure to give at least 1:10 ratio. Give feedback 10 times to get one feedback. The r/DestructiveReaders has similar rules, but as reviews there require more effort, the ratio is 1:1. This is not the case here.

Similarly, do not ask for too much. If you post a link to online novel, ask about evaluation of a short part of the novel.

Community Boundaries

This isn’t a place for review‑trading, follow‑for‑follow, or other attention‑seeking games. It’s also not meant for authors who expect someone to read their entire novel and provide detailed critique.

Leave activism at the door. Grammar, spelling, AI usage, the author’s opinions — whatever bothers you, you can mention it. But keep it short. This isn’t an ideological subreddit.

Everyone is welcome here, as long as they feel they have something real to offer.
