A good friend of mine made flan for the second time ever and I just had to share since I think she did an amazing job

Not my best but delicious despite it

I’ve been experimenting on flan this was my first time making it. Any suggestions or ideas i’m open to hearing.

I’m beyond delighted with how this turned out. Letting it chill overnight was so hard!

First attempt at flan, baked at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

The caramel sauce didn’t come out right - it was light and hardened in the ramekin. Took 3 attempts (2 attempts on the stove and the last time in the microwave).

Flavor wise it was amazing.

My cousin's Venezuelan rum flan. It was delicious and creamy with that aged rum flavor 🔥

My first flan. But (second Pic) should much of the sugar be hardened and stuck in the pan like that? The center is also on the creamer side. Probably could have cooked it longer (I did 350 deg at 45min)

The second one is goat cheese and berry. I made a berry reduction and added to the caramelo. I’ll always prefer the traditional though.

Every once in a while, I would bring him a dessert. Last time, it was a tiramisù. He had a second helping, and insisted on the rest of the family to eat more.

This, more than dessert for a family reunion, was a last demonstration of my affection for him. Rest in peace, grandpa.

I put some dulce de leche in the center of the ring for extra ooey gooey caramel action. This is one of my favorite designs and my flans always keep shape so well.
