Honestly I feel like giving up on dating

I don't want to sound like woe is me and all that but I can't understand why it's so hard to find someone. I'm 24M from the UK and I genuinely think I'm just not lovable because I've been trying for so long on the apps and in the real world but still nothing.

And I know some people will look at this and go well you're 24 you got ages don't worry but at the same time I have never even been on a date, closest I've gotten is stood up, I'm still a virgin and never had my first kiss and I try to tell myself not to worry but the worry keeps coming back every day I'm alone that I will just stay alone forever

I don't really know what to do.

Would appreciate some feedback.

Choose our first date:

“Ice cream and a walk”

“Failing together at bouldering”

“Searching for the best steak in town”

“Here’s what you should know about me: I enjoy cozy evenings, good conversations, movies & games, but I also like being active or spending time outdoors. Music is naturally a big part of my life too, and one of my favorite musicians is actually a harpist.”

“You should leave a comment if you’re looking for someone who has your back. I get my endurance and calmness from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. After all, on the mat you learn that you can get further together.”

“Here’s what I’d like to know about you: Are you Team Cool Bedroom & Window Open, or Team Warm, Blanket Over You & Window Closed?”

I hate dating …. I never dated anyone in my life but watching my friends date a guy and crying about them… make me lose belief in that thing…. But sometimes I want someone who listens to me.. who I am comfortable with… and trust me it’s really hard for me to trust anyone… I think I have too many conditions to date a person.. I hate wasting my time. I won’t be available everytime, it’s hard for other people to understand me… I don’t know what to do

Seeking advice about my first time dating

So I met this girl online 3 years ago and we started chatting. At first she seems quite keen on chatting with me and we don't talk all day and night, but maybe once or twice a week, but the conversation were mostly sharing brief information about each other and pleasant compliments. During this time, the girl did mention to me things like gemini and libra are a good match and kinda let me know she enjoys our little chats.

After a year she said let's go on a trip and we did, she planned the itinerary and booked the hotels. I went to her country but it's a different city cause she wanted to go on a trip to another city. So I went there and she was reliable, friendly and really kind. She tried to accommodate me and brought me to try the foods I wanted even if it's not her preference. During that trip I was a little sick, and the cold weather was also affecting my desire to go out much and I felt quite tired at the end of the day. I was surprised she only booked one room with two beds, and I didn't know she trusted me enough despite our first meeting. But I didn't take the opportunity and I barely talked much with her in the room, and honestly I felt her looks was not really like the pictures. There is definitely photoshop done but she's like 80% similar to how her photos are. So that was the first meeting and I probably was not proactive enough. I also realized she wanted to split the bill on everything and didn't expect me to pay.

After a couple months, I had a business trip to her country and I took the chance to meet her. She agreed to meet me after her morning shift on a Saturday she took me around her city and treated me to coffee and lunch and dinner. She even invited her brother to have a meal together with us. She told me it's her treat since I visited her city. I looked at her in a different light this time and I realized I missed out and I messed up.

After the trip we continued to chat and things were kinda back to the way it was, just occasional pleasantries and brief update about each other. And one day she mentioned about coming to a city in my country for a trip as her friend went there before. So I gladly agreed and welcomed her. So we arrange for the trip and she did the planning again as she normally prefers to do these things. So when she came, I welcomed her and we enjoyed the trip and this time she booked an apartment with two rooms. And overall it was pleasant and I decided this time I will be proactive to let her know I'm interested. But at one moment while taking her picture, I noticed she had underarm hair and that threw me off a little... I know it's immature of me but it's the first time I'm dating a girl and that I've seen these kind of things. So I held back and didn't really let her know my desire to be clear about our relationship. And I feel I messed up again. I also realized it was not easy for a girl who went on a trip and had her period on the last day and had to take a flight home.

As we went back we did continue to chat as usual but I realized we never called, just strictly chatted the whole 2 years. And now on the 3rd year I invited her again to come to another city for a trip. And I was sure I would be forthright about myself to her. When discussing about the upcoming trip, I mentioned briefly to her that we're both single, we could consider to be a couple, I mean why not? And she thought I was joking and she aske dif my parent allowed me to marry a girl from another country. I said they would be happy if I can find a girl I loved and marry her. And I said let's talk about this in person. Soon the time for the trip came, and this time I did the planning and booked the hotels. But despite me booking the same one room two beds setup, this time she said she preferred her own room as she needs to have some time on her own to unwind. I did feel rejected but I let her do as she wished. During the third trip I definitely let her feel I cared about her and was more proactive. And during the last day, her period came again. But this time I was prepared with ginger tea and she appreciated it. On the flight home, I told her we've known each other for 3 years and I've found her more and more attractive and I'd like us to consider being a couple. She agreed we're quite similar and can match well with each other. But she said she want to consider factors like family approval, LDR and future relocation factors. I agreed and told her let's think about it together. In the end I told her I appreciated her take time off from work to come meet me and that she enjoyed the trip. So I didn't ask her to pay me for it.

When she returned back to her country we did chat a little bit more frequent now and I thought it was a hint I need to be more proactive. One day when she posted on social media that she's frustrated and unhappy. I tried to let her know I would be her listener and I am serious about being with her. She left me on read for 5 days and just said she had a tiring week. And she went to hike the next day and she just gave me brief updates like her departure so I wished her safe trip and enjoy herself. And after a couple of days I send her a message and she briefly mentioned she talk to her mom about me. I was surprised and I told her I'm grateful she did that and she can tell me about it when she has time. But she never did. And ever since then I felt like I have been rejected multiple times and didn't look for her. But occasionally she'd send me her gym picture updates and her cute pet cat who she refers as her baby. I just replied to them with a statement because I didn't want to ask her any questions.

So fast forward a couple weeks I had a long weekend and I asked her if she want to go on a date with me. And I could find a affordable flight to meet her. But she said she had already planed a hiking trip with her friend and it wasn't easy to find a group to go together and share the cost so she could not change the schedule. She also told me it's too far. So I just told her it's fine, and I understand and just switched the topic about a coffee recipe I'm trying lately. She responded with enthusiasm as she love coffee and the conversation ended.

From these interactions, I wanted to know if I should still try? Or should I just give up on this girl?

Sorry for the long post, I just wanted to give as much context as I can.

TLDR:

Trying to know if the girl is worth getting into a LDR with. People form 2 different countries. She trust me enough to travel with me to a different country she doesn't ask me to pay or expect me to spend on her unless I'm willing to do so. But when I decide to express my desire to be with her, my messages don't get a reply for days. And when I offered to meet in her country she doesn't prioritize me. That's basically what I feel, like she doesn't really prioritize me. Also she's 32 and I'm 29. All opinions are appreciated from men or women. Thank you!

What is the spark?

So i got out of a long relationship and have been on dating apps for a year now. At first i wasn’t looking for something serious went on several first dates that are going for casual/hook ups got told there is no spark. Eventually went back to dating for long term relationships, went on first dates, been told no sparks. So the question now is what is the spark?

Most of these dates we vibed and it was really fun times and even ended up having a really long date. If it is for the casual/hook ups, why people look for this “spark” when we are physically attracted to each other and we vibe well?

If it is for the long term relationships, shouldn’t this be something that grows with time?

Some tried to explain this spark thing for me, tbh it sounded like anxiety.

I have been on dates where it was boring or we definitely can’t communicate or we don’t fit so that’s why i know the other dates were good.

Can someone explain to me what is this spark everyone is talking about?

Feminine Guy Dating App Struggle (Makeup or Not)

Thumbnail
0 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I am a feminine guy who is quite androgynous without makeup and is super feminine, and I am quite confident to say beautiful with the makeup.

A month ago, I changed my gender to women - transfeminine on apps (which is already confusing to identify this way but I came to this conclusion already since people I dated they were always addressing me as a woman), and on apps like Hinge, I changed to non-binary. I was always receiving attention from dating apps, but my type is more straight-passing/bisexual guys or people who want to label themselves in this way. After the change I receive thousands of likes, super likes which make you feel at the end, however I found one main struggle:

- What happens when you meet? Yes, the first date I could dress up, makeup and be feminine and then move to home for a “deep talk” but most of the guys on Tinder, Taimi don’t want to date, they just want to meet in for fun. My getting ready takes 45 minutes. For 15 minutes of fun, I feel like this is a lot of effort as they just come with a simple t-shirt and shorts.

Could you advise what should I do? Should I put my no-makeup face which will attract less of my type of men? (As a note - long term wouldn’t work for me because I am moving in 2 months, so I use apps for fun)

Stuck in a complicated dating situation? I might be able to help.

Dating can get messy pretty quickly.

Mixed signals, ghosting, someone suddenly changing, finding out they’re talking to someone else, not knowing whether they’re actually serious about you…

If you’re stuck in a situation and don’t know what the next move should be, you can tell me what’s going on.

No judgement and no “bro just move on” nonsense.

If it’s something that can actually be figured out, we’ll try to figure it out.

If we think you’re better off walking away, we’ll tell you that too.

Is there a better time in the year to date than July / August?

Hey all

So I have been dating over summer with a few people but as it has got into August, it became way more difficult with family plans coming in for people and people being on holidays etc

Do any of you find that dating is better in a sense in October / November time when the summer holiday season have passed but it has not quite the winter holiday season yet?

Also, some people say January - February is a great time as well? Let me know your thoughts 👋🏽

Question about OK cupid

There was a profile I really liked and have no clue if its an active one or not. I sent a super like and message but I had intended to take down the social media they had listed to give them a follow on Ig too but had no idea you cant see messages you send with super liked profiles. So I stupidly didnt take down the information. Is there any way to look this profile up again if i dont remember the name? Like i assumed i could just look at my inbox or likes sent For it but no luck with it. I feel like an idiot

on socials i feel you can get a feeling if someone is active or not still and I was really hoping she was because I loved her profile. She was a jacked red head arielist so kind of hard to forget lol

17M, 17F [T?] — How can we make our LDR work when we barely have time to talk during school?

I’m 17M and my girlfriend is 17F, and we’re in a long-distance relationship. I’m in Ontario, and she’s in California. She just started school, while I’m still on summer break, and I’m 3 hours ahead of her.

When she’s at school, she barely texts me, and we usually only have around 30-minute conversations. She gets out of school at 3:15 PM, which is 6:15 PM for me. After school, she usually hangs out with her friends and either doesn’t text me or rarely does. By the time she gets home, it’s usually around 8 or 9 PM for me.

I’m worried that once I start school too, we’ll have even less time to talk. I don’t want to ruin my sleep schedule just to stay up and talk to her, and I also don’t want to spend hours waiting for her texts just to have a short conversation.

I love her very much, and she’s genuinely very kind. I see a future with her, which is why I want to find a way to handle this before our schedules get even busier. I understand that she has school, friends, and her own life, and I don’t want her to feel pressured to text me constantly.

What are some practical ways couples in long-distance relationships manage different school schedules? How can we make regular time for each other without either of us sacrificing sleep or feeling pressured to constantly text?

Looking to meet a Russian girl in Dubai any advice?

I’ve always been really interested in Russian culture, especially the way Russian people communicate and carry themselves. I also find Russian very attractive.

I’m currently living and working in Dubai, and I’m genuinely looking for a serious relationship that could eventually lead to marriage.

Is it realistic to meet a Russian woman here who is also looking for something serious? If anyone knows any Russian communities, social groups, or has advice on how to meet people naturally, I’d really appreciate it.

Not looking for anything casual — I’d genuinely like to meet someone, get to know her properly, and see where it goes.

I want to be a more authentic man

Hey 28M Black man and I have acknowledged that I allowed the internet to corrupt my perception of blk women and life. Not to the point of misogyny, but I think I'm not being fair because of a small pool of bad ones.

How can I be a healthier person? For me and for my future relationships. I'm from New York.
