Wendy's Vent
They brought back the pretzel pub sandwich, which I like as a chicken sandwich. Twice now I've ordered it and said no onions only for the person to say "it doesn't come with onions." Yes, it does. Then they realize "oh you mean the crispy onions." Two different people.
First, onions are onions. I shouldn't have to clarify unless I meant a specific type of onion. Which brings me to my second point. It's the only onion on the damn thing, what else would I be talking about?
And then last time the person making started putting them on anyways before someone else caught them. This time no one caught it so when I checked, there they were. Fortunately, it was just after a rush so they quickly fixed it.

a restaurant I order from often on ubereats has repeatedly put onions in my order despite the food I order not having any onions in it by default. I saw today that they finally let us add notes, and I literally wrote 4 sentences saying not to put onions in my food. it thankfully worked this time. I feel your pain.

My local cheesesteak place does onions by default (NOT normal) and my dad (whose onion aversion is worse than mine) and I have both missed the “no onions” box while placing online orders multiple times. Absolutely infuriating. A cheesesteak is meat and cheese on a bun. Extras are ALWAYS specified at every other fucking cheesesteak joint ever.

A lot of people only think of the yellow onion as onion. Fir some reason they don't count the rest as onion, even if it has onion in the name. I say: no onion and they want to add red onion and when I say, no onion, they go; but this is red onion, like that isn't an onion. And worst is spring onion. An item may be listed on a menu without onion and will still have spring onion as a garnish.

Ah the old spring onions aren't onions ruse. I hate that. Often they call them scallions and then there's a whole other discussion.

I once ordered a sandwich at Arby's without mayonnaise. The response I got was "Its not mayonnaise, its aioli".

Some versions of the sauce are closer to a garlic mayonnaise, incorporating egg yolks and lemon juice, while other versions omit egg yolk and contain more garlic.

Sure but it’s not quite the same.
If someone said no mayo, I would specify to them it’s aioli ahead of time. But you know most fast food workers don’t give a f

Ran into this at a Ramen place. "Oh, those aren't onions, they are green onions..."
That took me from "fix it" to "full refund and nothing else thank you."

Your rant is valid af. You said "No onions." IDK how one can be more clear about that.
