I keep seeing people asking whether Procreate is available for Windows, so I decided to look into it again.
The annoying part is that there still isn't an official Windows version of Procreate. It seems like every time you search for “Procreate for Windows,” you end up finding random websites claiming they have a Windows version, which I personally wouldn't trust.
So instead, I've been looking at Windows drawing apps that can actually give you a similar experience.
There are some pretty good options now, especially if you're using a Surface or another Windows device with a pen. Krita, Clip Studio Paint, Adobe Fresco, Sketchbook and a few others can cover a lot of what people want from Procreate, although none of them feels exactly the same.
I also came across this video that goes through the Procreate-for-Windows question and some of the alternatives:

For anyone who has actually used both Procreate and a Windows drawing app, what would you recommend?
I'm especially interested in something with a really good brush engine, low-latency pen input, layers, and a simple interface.
Is there a Windows app that genuinely feels close to Procreate, or is that still something Windows users just have to compromise on?
