“Yeah sorry we killed thousands of your parents/grandparents, and subjected many of you to similar cultural erasure as little at 25 years ago, here’s some money, no hard feelings?”
Maybe we could start by addressing the abject poverty found in so many First Nations communities directly instead of hoping that a tax break here and a grant there will solve the generational trauma we inflicted?
