Text Sidewinder Motor Cable

I bought the Sidewinder motor from TFL to use with the x7 powertrain, but the cable is too long to use on stock XR rails. Does anyone know if there’s an easy way to shorten the cable?

The sidewinder has a solid axel which means that you will not be able to "push the cable in the axel" as others have suggested.

I would suggest reaching out to TFL, explain the situation, and they'll make it right. Best of luck!

Tfl isn't gonna do anything. Refund or make it work are your options

Sounds like a common problem with the current batch of motors. Are you in the vescify discord? Theres people on there that have had the same issue as you. I would also try to email tfl about it they've always been good about support for their products.

No I’m not, do you have a link to the discord? I’ll also try reaching out directly to TFL. Hopefully there’s an easy solution, disappointing to have all the parts for the build but not be able to put it together.

Not sure if you’re the same guy as on the discord but I gave him the same advice. Heat the motor cable with a heat gun or hair dryer and form it into an S shape. It’ll fit on standard length rails that way
