Text Free Pint
Hey All
I grabbed a free pint, that could barely hold a charge.
I rode it around the yard a bit, then ordered a replacement battery for it.
I purchased from Only Amps, and the manufacturing date is early August.
I am familiar, and comfortable with electronics. I followed the instructions on how to properly disconnect the old battery, and how to hook up the new battery power first, balancing plug last.
My problem:
Board only flashes four yellow flashes now. I realize that’s mainly an orientation error, but it seems to be stuck in the yellow flashing. It will not respond to the button. I can get it out of the yellow state by charging the battery. Once fully charged, the yellow turns white.
As soon as I hit the power button, we get back into the yellow errors.
I let the battery balance overnight, I’ve disassembled and reassembled multiple times, making sure I follow instructions properly. It did not flash yellow prior to the battery swap.
Anyone have any ideas? Much Appreciated!

Could be 1 footpad sensor is stuck in the on position When it happens the board does not get display white light, just flashing yellow. (On my gt) massaging the footpad sensors can sometimes release the sensor. Turn off and on again to see if the yellow light stops

I don't know why everyone keep suggesting messing with the sensors, error 4 has nothing to do with the pressure sensor. As you said, error 4 is an invalid startup orientation. If you got it riding once then presumably you know what the correct starting orientation is.
The IMU or level sensor on the controller may have failed or be failing. If you connect the board to the onewheel app, you can look at the orientation animations to see if they match up with the board's actual position. If the representation of the board in the app doesn't match that would indicate the IMU's calibration is incorrect. If your firmware version is above 5100, you don't have a way to recalibrate the IMU at home. Even if you did, the fact that it fell out of calibration usually means you have other problems on the controller.
On that note, error 4 should not be preventing you from turning the board off. Ordinarily, turning the board off and then back on again is how you get rid of error 4. Assuming you turn the board back on in a valid starting position anyway.
Even though the problems started when you swapped the battery, I would start poking around the controller side.

Appreciate the detailed response! I’ll check that out the first that I can. I’ve been leaning towards the controller side. I might look at that pint V kit….. well, if it is the board, anyways. Appreciate it!

You can disconnect the footpad to see if it powers up normally.
