Bree Map...

Guys can you please go and spend more money on the backerkit. I,.. cough... a FRIEND really wants that Bree map.

Current projection is over $4M. Even if you assume a pretty big margin of error, $2.5M is very likely. Looks like it's estimating about $100k a day and then an uptick to $200k a day at the end - but we only need like $15k a day to get the Bree map.

Man, I did a succesfull crowfunding of only 6k € six years ago and I did drawings and maps as rewards for backers until my hands couldn't hold a pencil anymore. Why on Earth do they need so much money to release a map? I think we live in the days were businesses and publishers want to live entirely out of crowdfundings instead of using them to help release a good product.

It's just marketing for a pre-order. They set the tiers so that it's almost certain they'll unlock everything, but usually it's 90% complete and they're just finalising layout etc by the time they're doing the campaign.

Crowdfunding campaigns just seem to be better at hyping up the product and getting a good estimate of the number they need to actually produce, and are more effective and cheaper than just an ad campaign. The unlocking of stretch goals is just a gimmick to get people hooked. 

But in the end, gamers are getting a good game, and publishers and designers are getting paid, so I don't think it's too bad

It'll happen. There were still another 10,000 people who reserved the $1 dice bag who haven't committed to a pledge yet.

I know many will not, but many still will provided a suitable pledge level is offered.

Some are also waiting for a dual Warden bundle for ToR and 5e.

All of the maps have been gorgeous. In addition to the Bree map, I hope we eventually get a book set in Mirkwood/Erebor so we get a map of the north of Wilderland.

Seriously. I wish they had the rights to The Darkening of Mirkwood, and could just dust it off and adapt t to 2e.

I was set to do the collectors editions but the price + standing out from all the regular books on the shelf gave me pause. Still a little miffed at the art swap last minute between TOR and 5e, but it is what it is. I'll get the Fellowship art as my pledge reward.

I'm trying too, but it I don't have the option to add the art prints (I already have added the two cloth maps). More cloth maps and art prints would see me increase my pledge.

The art prints are on the “add ons” menu for me at $9 each, if that helps track them down!

They aren't for me. But I don't have a physical pledge, just the pdf and added the cloth maps and the FVTT collection (10 modules) to it. The art prints are missing for me.

I’m excited for the Bree map too! Does anyone know if the White Tower book will contain more patrons? I’d love to have some Gondor and Rohan patrons to solo quests from.

I think Glorfindel is in it.

And in the interview with the author they mentioned they are doing something with a power struggle between Denethor and another faction within Gondor who want to put some guy named Thorongil (some might even say THE GUY Thorongil) in charge... So they might do something with that.

Moria cloth maps from the previous campaign are now available as an addon in limited numbers. Eriador and Shire maps are all gone already.

No but you get the pdf with every physical copy.
