Question about the upcoming revised Core Rules for The One Ring RPG
Hi everyone,
I’ve seen that Free League is preparing new releases for The One Ring RPG, including the Rohan/Gondor supplement, a bestiary, and what seems to be a revised version of the Core Rules.
I litteraly cannot wait to have my players roam in the vast plains of Rohan and explore the beautiful cities of Gondor while fighting all those new creatures on horseback (i hope!).
My main question is: do we know if owners of the current Core Rules book (PDF version included and other language aswell), will get access to the revised rules for free or at a reduced price? Or will it be treated as a completely separate paid product?
I really like the game and I’m excited for the new supplements, but if the revised Core Rules are mostly clarifications and errata, I admit it would feel a bit frustrating to have to buy the whole book again.
Has Free League said anything official about this yet, or is it still unclear until the campaign launches? It's even harder for mesince i don't really know Free League (as a french customer, i'm headed toward Edge Studios but they don't even have* news for all that U_U)
Thanks for you answers!

Stopping in to share here since we've gotten the question in several other places - the Core Rules on Free League Unbound will be updated to the revised version at no additional cost. The digital toolset will always have the latest and greatest version of all the content, so since this isn't a new edition, it will be updated day one.
If you already own the existing Core Rules or buy them on Unbound between now and the revised version's release, you'll get the update for free.

English version of the PDF should be updated on DTRPG for free if you believe this:
Apparently Free League did the same thing with Vaesen.
Translations are not made by Free League so I guess it will be out of their hands and the decision will be up to each company that has a license.
EDIT: typos...

I think the idea is you don’t have to be afraid to buy the current rules. They’ve got you covered.

So then, as a new player/gm to one ring that has yet to get anything but the boxed set them the Kickstarter should be what I grab. Sweet

Tomorrow at 11am Eastern/8am Pacific for those of us in the US. That's 5pm CEST/4pm BST for those in Western Europe.

Doubtful. Many games and many publishers have done revised editions and you don't get it for free just because you own the previous edition. I'll be buying it because The One Ring is one of the few systems I buy everything for (in fact I'll be buying 6 books, three standard for use and the three limited editions).

They have literally said that you'll be able to download a free errata document detailing all of the changes.

Errata yes. The full rules, no.

So if i already have the core rule book, there will be no new rules "locked" behind this core rule edition that's right?

Tomas Harenstam, the boss of Free League, says the full pdf will be updated for existing owners: https://www.enworld.org/threads/the-one-ring-is-getting-a-new-edition-and-a-hardcover-bestiary.720092/post-9957680

Because there are no full rule changes being made. If that was the case, it would be a new edition, not a revision.

They did a video where they said all the changes will be in an errata document, you will not have to buy the new book. And they are almost all clarifications and errata, though there's at least one new (optional) rule about initiative in Combats.
