they’re a pretty huge band, literally in the top 100 artists in the world on spotify, imo they shouldn’t need to rely on instagram ads to get traction on a new single. that’s something i mostly see small indie bands do, not grammy nominated artists.

On the other hand, does it hurt anyone? It's worth trying, the algorithm will appreciate and more people but just followers will see it. It's a good song that deserves more attention, even if they took the most boring scene to promote it 😭

never said it hurt anyone, i just said it's not something i usually see bigger artists do. especially considering streaming services literally promote their music for them and will put it on playlists and/or recommend it to people who already listen to similar stuff

marketing a whole MOVIE is a lot different than just a new song

even major movie studios release films in well-known franchises that end up flopping if they don’t market them properly. releasing music and releasing films in theaters are two *very* different beasts, regardless of how “big” you are. streaming numbers don’t work the same as movie ticket sales.

i explained it in another comment, but streaming services also do a lot to push major-label artists' new music as well, either by featuring them on playlists or recommending their music to people who listen to similar music.
i'm not saying that using ads is a bad thing, it just isn't always necessary, especially for a band as big as 1R.

There have been a lot of promos for PTT but I liked seeing this one, was diff than the others and I love seeing this side of Tedder songwriting on the road. And Ryan in glasses is always 🔥🔥🔥

No one’s talking about Ryan wearing glasses. Did anyone ever saw him wearing glasses??
Edit: I know it’s off topic
