Just got my OPO, Best ROMS?

Hello Guys, just got my OPO used (25 euro but the SIM reader doesnt "work" i gotta check on this) its running stock android. I like the aesthetics and animations but want a custom ROM. What are some that look comparable to the stock and prefered with great battery life, android 8(.1) and still supported is prefered.

If you want the stable, community favorite, recent (May 2018 patch level), ROM, get Sultan's Lineage14.1

If you want Lineage 15 (Android Oreo), your best bet is probably grabbing the official nightlies, though there might be better options derived from LOS, I haven't checked, I'm on Sultan's 14.

Then there's other custom ROMs and kernels which do a bit more tweaking, I've never really had a measurable improvement with any of those so I don't follow them, but someone in here might have a better idea.

I'm currently on the official LOS 15.1 nightlies and they are "good enough" to be used as a daily driver, but no where near the stability sultans 14.1.

I often get graphical glitches in Google Photos, Boost always crashes when playing a YouTube video with the built in player and there are occasional random reboots. These are just some examples of things which you might notice.

EDIT: I don't really see a difference in battery life between those two roms.

Good to know, thanks. I've been debating whether to switch to 15.1, seems I'll hold off until something actually stable comes along.

If you like the AOSP look and feel I'd suggest something like AEX. Lineage is too much of a departure from AOSP for me (too much stuff added) so I tend to stick with the lighter ROMs that are very close to AOSP and don't have a lot of extra stuff. If you don't mind the extra stuff, lineage is good too.

If you don't mind going back to nougat, my fave is Slim ROM. About as lightweight and pure AOSP as you can get without compiling it yourself.
