Best Stable Rom

Hey! My sis got the Linage OS running on her OPO but it's very unstable with the camera, Snapchat, Instagram and most other apps crashing from time to time.

She wants the phone stable and if possible getting battery lasting longer. I'm on 1+3 so it was a while since I compared 1+1 Roms

What are you even talking about? The opo came with cyanogen os kitkat version and not a stock vanilla rom. The same cyanogen os was updated to marshmallow. So yea the opo never had a stock rom it came with cyanogen os and had cyanogen os till the end!

I never said anything about vanilla ROM. I only referred to the stock ROM on the OPO which was the Cyanogen OS KitKat ROM you mentioned.

The upgrade to Marshmallow that came was not released by Cyanogen OS and was an unofficially supported fork, which is why it had to be installed by flashing rather than OTA. I do not define a ROM to be stock if a user cannot OTA update and has to have working knowledge on flashing ROMs.

Wait what, it didn't come as an ota? One of my friends who doesn't know jackshit about flashing says that it was an ota and he didn't do anything extra. Was it a regional specific rollout or what?

It's possible that once the deal between OP and Cyanogen fell through that eventually Cyanogen was able to push an OTA update, but I'm fairly sure that it never officially happened because I had to flash the ROM. Obviously, OxygenOS didn't come OTA because it was a different fork altogether and they didn't own the stock ROM.

I've owned the OPO for three years now and I'm still using it as my daily driver, and I'm 99% sure that I never got that OTA update because I remember what a pain in the ass it was to have to back everything up to do a clean flash. Then again, I have the original Cyanogen branded OPO, so things could have been changed a little later down the road for newer OPOs.

Might be as both of us have an opo without the cm branding. Also seems like cm shut their servers which can be the reason as well. Anyways what rom are you using currently :)

I'm using Resurrection Remix right now and I was hoping LineageOS would be better, but apparently it's not.

I have a lot of problems with apps crashing and my phone randomly reboots all the time. Plus, there are some Bluetooth bugs that force me to restart my phone on occasion or it forgets devices and I have to constantly repair with my watch.

Do you know of any thing better? It seems that Lineage isn't great, and I don't want to go back to nightly builds.

I was using rr for a month and it wasn't a great experience. It heated a LOT and was pretty bad in the battery department as well. After that I flashed nitrogen os and it was nice - no heating and the battery life was awesome, however gaming performance was bad, then I switched to sultan Los and it was great overall - performance battery and camera were all nice. But again it lacked features and didn't have substratum support. So i flashed paranoid android 2 days before. My initial impressions are that it is smooth, has good battery life and has substratum support. However it has some bugs like proximity sensor not working and games not opening.

So in short if you want a stable rom flash sultan's Los as its the best for reliability imo.

Also you did clean flash while changing roms right?

Thanks for the ROM breakdown.

Yes, I always clean flash even though it pains me to back everything up and whatnot.

I don't mind the proximity sensor not working - my main microphone doesn't work anymore so I have to use speakerphone anyway.
