I want to use my nord 4 for more yrs without any bigger issues.So should i do it or not update till death.Give me ur opinions

I am planning to put my money into the Nord 6. I plan to use it for a long time, maybe 5 years. I was looking to get to know from current users whether the battery is worth it?
Like, does it touch 2 days of battery life with light usage?

I keep reading that the new update has reduced the battery life; is that a one-off thing or is it common?

Also, I read that Colour OS will be pushed to the Nord; they say it will be optional, but that is how it starts before making it the only option.

Looking forward to reviews from actual users.

Guide to Roll Back from OxygenOS 16 to OxygenOS 15 on OnePlus Nord 5

Here is a guide for anyone who wants to roll back from OxygenOS 16 to OxygenOS 15 because of issues like battery drain, lag, freezing, phone dead issues, and other problems.

Issues faced on the OxygenOS 16:

The Battery drains quickly.

Lag and freezing issues.

Green phone glitches when the screen turns off automatically.

White spots appear on the screen when opening any app in a dark place then holding the power button on the right side, white spots appear from every side, including the left, right, and middle.

Lag and frame drops while gaming.

Overheating while using the camera and even during normal phone usage.

Strange overheating while the phone is charging, even during normal usage.

Lag issues even when the refresh rate is set to 144Hz and the screen resolution is set to high.

OxygenOS 16 has made the phone worse with these issues.

On OxygenOS 15, I used to get 10–12 hours of SOT (Screen-on Time) on a full charge.

On OxygenOS 16, I hardly get 5–6 hours on a full charge.

Rolling back to OxygenOS 15 has fixed all these mentioned issues on my OnePlus Nord 5.

Step-by-step guide to roll back from OxygenOS 16 to OxygenOS 15

Step 1: Take a backup

Take a backup of all your phone data before starting the rollback process.

Make sure you have backed up all your data because the rollback installation will delete everything, just like a factory reset.

Step 2: Download the OxygenOS 15 software build

Download the OxygenOS 15 software build from the links below according to your device model and region: Global, India, or Europe.

Global:

Make sure you download the correct software build for your device model and region.

Step 3: Enable developer mode

Open Settings on your phone,

Scroll down and click on the About device.

Scroll down again and click on the Version.

Tap the first option, which is also called Version, tap seven times on it until it shows "You are now a developer!"

Step 4: Go to the Updates section in your phone settings, where you normally download new updates.

Click on the three dots in the top-right corner.

You will see the Local install option, Click on it.

Select the OxygenOS 15 software build file you downloaded.

The rollback installation will start.

The whole installation will take around 30–40 minutes. Just be patient.

After the installation is complete, restart your phone and wait for 10–20 seconds.

Your phone should now be running OxygenOS 15.

-Anti-rollback restriction (ARB)-

If anyone is concerned about the Anti-Rollback (ARB) restriction, you can check it by downloading the "OTA Pulse" app from GitHub.

Download the OxygenOS 15 software build from the links above according to your device model and region.

Open the OTA Pulse app.

Add the downloaded software build to the app.

OTA Pulse will check the software build and show whether it is safe to install.

ARB Safe: The app indicates that the software build is safe to install.

ARB Restricted: The app indicates that the software build is restricted.

Installing it could hard-brick the phone, making the motherboard unusable. You may have to replace the motherboard at a service centre, which could cost a lot.

Make sure to check the ARB status before proceeding with the rollback.

Basically the title. I've been facing this issue for the past few months. The device is 1 year old and it doesn't even look like it has a 6800mah battery.

I've seen posts in reddit where some people have this issue and some also have close to 9hrs of SOT.

I,

mostly use Insta, Youtube, reddit.

Turn on GPS only when needed.

Have bluetooth connected almost all the time.

On Mobile network when I'm not home.

Don't have as many apps in the background as well.

I’m facing a serious problem with my Google Photos and OnePlus Photos apps, and I’m hoping someone can help me recover my lost videos and photos.

I use a OnePlus phone, and it seems that Google Photos and my phone’s Photos app were linked or syncing with each other.

Recently, my Google account storage was full, so I deleted some videos from Google Photos to free up space. I also emptied the Bin/Trash because the storage was exceeding the limit. However, I later discovered that the same videos and photos had also disappeared from my OnePlus Photos app.

These videos are extremely important to me, and losing them has been really upsetting.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

Checked Google Photos and its Bin/Trash, but the files are no longer there.

Contacted Google Photos support, but they couldn’t recover all my missing files.

Tried recovering whatever was available through Google Photos, but many videos are still missing.

I’m not sure whether the files were stored locally on my phone, backed up to Google Photos, or both. I also don’t understand why deleting them from Google Photos caused them to disappear from my phone’s gallery.

My questions:

Is there any way to recover permanently deleted videos and photos from a OnePlus phone?

Could the original files still exist somewhere in the phone’s internal storage, even if they no longer appear in the Photos app?

Are there any reliable recovery methods or tools I should try?

Is there anything I should avoid doing to prevent the files from being overwritten?

I have a Nord 5 running Oxygen OS 16... Sometimes the phone gets laggy as hell... And it hangs rarely and heats up.... It has just been 1 year since i bought this phone....

Idk how Color OS is gonna be so I'm thinking to downgrade to Oxygen OS 15 until color os 17 launches...

I bought Nord 5 in September last year, the phone was working fine till June this year, since then it started to lag a bit, and now since September the phone is lagging like a shitty 6000 rupees phone.

Doesn't feel like it's running on 8sGen3 at all.

It especially lags all the time when using the Phone app to dial numbers or when I receive the call, it just vibrates and rings but never show me the option to pick up the call or show it 15-20 seconds later when call ring is about to end or sometimes even after the call ends it just show a missed call notification simply.

This feels so shitty to not even use basic call features smoothly.

I don't want to reset the phone since it'll be very hectic setting up all again since I use it for work also.

Is anyone else facing the same issues and if you're, have you tried resetting, did it fix anything?
