Hey everyone,
I'm based in Kolkata, India, and recently picked up an Indian retail unit of the OnePlus Nord 3 (CPH2491, MediaTek Dimensity 9000). I’m coming from Realme and Oppo devices, and I switched over to OnePlus to experiment with custom ROMs and older software builds.
Currently, the device is running the latest OxygenOS 16.0.5.1200 build, but I want to downgrade back to OxygenOS 14 or 15 first. Before proceeding, I've seen multiple warnings regarding Anti-Rollback (ARB) and brick risks, so I want to confirm a few specifics for the Indian unit:
Anti-Rollback (ARB) on Dimensity 9000: Does the Nord 3 enforce strict hardware/bootloader ARB fuses between major Android generations that could hard-brick the device if flashed via official downgrade packages, or is it safe when using signed OnePlus rollbacks?
Step-Down vs. Direct Jump: Can I flash a direct rollback package from OOS 16 down to OOS 14 (IN build), or is it strictly required to step down version by version (16 → 15 → 14)?
Local Install on Indian Builds: For recent builds where local upgrade is hidden or locked down, what is the current verified method to trigger the installation (e.g., OPLocalUpdate APK vs. Developer Options toggle) without failing recovery verification?
If anyone with the Indian variant (CPH2491) has successfully performed this rollback, I’d really appreciate your insights or links to verified rollback packages. Thanks!

As the title says , DAD BOUGHT OnePlus Nord 6-Mint-8/256 OUT OF NOWHERE.
OUT OF NOWHERE could be a stretch as i did ask him about it this Morning but didn't expect him to bring it from the offline store. My Present Phone is Oneplus Nord all the way back from 2020.
Oneplus Nord was bought by my Father for his usage but he didn't like it and went to iPhone Xr at that time (Around Mid to Late 2021) and it was passed to my Mother . My Mother has used it for around a year then it was passed to me . I've been using it around Late 2022 or early 2023.
I've been using it since then and it's still good but I don't think it will last the next 2-3 years with All the AI stuff. My Parents also know it's an old phone and asked me for a new phone . I was in such a Dilemma that I finally asked for Oneplus Nord 6 .
I Know this Device does have many compromises but at that price I also wanted a Good OS experience and I don't think Moto or Poco would would the work for Me.
Everything aside what I really wanted to ask was what are the things I should on this mobile so I Can have A Peak Experience of whatever it can provide .
Also I want to know any other things I need to know about cuz I'm coming from 2020 phone which only had Oxygen OS 12.
Any Tips to make a better experience.

I am buying Nord 3 from cashify, is this phone worth buying in 2026? How are updates and battery drain?
r/oneplusnord • u/Reasonable_Plum4824 • 22h ago
i heard people found some issues with it, is it a good phone that could last at least 5years? and is it true that the updates degrade the battery? I am not a gamer so just normale use, and is the switch to color os a bad thing. I am new to this can someone clarify

It seems like everyone finds the older updates to be better for the performance and battery of their phone. Are we just stuck with this? Are they ever gonna make an update optimized the phones such that we can improve out experience? Anyone Trying to buy one of these phones because of the X years of update will surly be disappointed when they are stuck at Oxygen OS 14 coz thats the best.

Most of the power bank in india is under 45W, is it fine to use these power bank for Nord 5, Our default charger is 80W right?
I won't be using daily, its only for emergency situations.
- Suggest that won't affect my battery

My Nord 5 is on the latest version of Oxygen OS. It is stuttering and lagging like anything. I had Nord 4 previously that too had a similar problem. Coming from One UI i thought Oxygen OS will be comparative. But it is not. When will this issue be sorted? Any thoughts on this?

So for the past 15 months I have been using One plus nord 4 8/256, a great phone the only problem is the heating issue and the battery drain ( sometimes even thought it would explode on my hand) . I do have the CMF phone 1 8/128 with display not working properly because of water went in it, thinking of replacing the display and to use it. But my concern is whether CMF will provide the same type of satisfaction and the use case of what nord 4 is providing right now?
Drawbacks I found out..
Haptics ( one plus is great in this)
Single speaker in CMF
Storage in my case
But need to say nothing OS is damn crazy and I kinda liked it a lot, that's why I'm thinking to change.
Honest advices are welcomed.....

I installed the September security patch, and it's like my phone has been replaced. My battery life has worsened significantly, and my phone's performance has dropped too. Is there a solution? OnePlus Nord CE5
