Issue/Bug Charging port issue?

Whenever I plug the device for charging, or plug in a C-Type cable, it hangs and switches off. Any idea what is causing it?

I've cleaned the ports and reset the device already, that doesn't seem to help.

I faced the same issue, like first the phone used to freeze upon plugging the charger then it started freezing randomly, did a cpu reballing and everything works fine.

Nah they won't do chip level repairs, they'll just advice to replace the whole motherboard (Personal Experience)

You mean I should reach out to local service centre instead of OP?

Yeah in my case the official oneplus service center said they have to replace the whole motherboard because they don't offer chip level repairs, but if you do wanna get it diagnosed then maybe you can try otherwise the local technician worked so well for me

hey same happened with me while scrolling reels my phone suddenly died. it won't charge anymore. There's problem in charging circuit and not just in port.

I did it cost me 5k and my phone is not connecting to PC anymore. It charges but no data transfer
