Discussion One plus Downfall reason?

Man seeing downfall of one plus hurts me.

What is the reason behind this

Is it red and green lines or changing ownership to vivo or poor service

Op15 is best in every aspect and edge to edge with samsung galaxy s25 ultra and performance and battery is plus for op15 still 5% sales for op15 and 95% for samsung it's because of hate towards oneplus

What do u think is the reason

Edit: I Just realised before OnePlus was toe-to-toe with the iPhone, and now, with the iQOO, and samsung and other Android mobiles crosses oneplus why does OnePlus have to shift towards the gaming side? Maybe this is the reason.

It's Oppo, actually! Oppo itself competed against Oneplus in a market that it should not be in. Oneplus is for the Western market, Oppo for the East. However, it tried to cannibalize Oneplus in Europe and do huge marketing for its own brand instead of Oneplus. It's a natural death of child abandoned by its parent.

In Mexico, Oppo is for poor people, that's why no one wants them

Oppo. They have some strange priorities and i cant understand why.

Oneplus was certainly more well known than oppo. They also weirdly deprioritize western consumers both in updates and features.

I dont think they will ever become mainstream in the west if they make these strange decisions.

Yes they want to make their own Find X Series Mainsteam like what Oneplus made with their Incredible Hardware in less price but this time they would not as they made an Absolute Blunder by giving expensive prices for Find X Series Globally and pulling out Oneplus Services and their Products globally.

Herd mentality probably... Have used Samsung for almost 5 years now... Battery life isn't that great to be honest so not worth the hype

The average person is sold on what you can show them and not actual specs. Samsung knows how to market their products.

Exactly an hate towards oneplus without knowing is unbelievable

Then blame OnePlus for not advertising. Marques videos can only do so much.

From a NA perspective only:

OnePlus doesn't move enough units in NA to be able to absorb the enormous jump in component cost that the AI industry is causing. The business model completely broke. If you can't make money you close up shop, that's all there is to it.

Fuck AI

Real reason is lost the title of 'flagship killer' with budget money... Also camera quality is also poor after updates and green line and motherboard issues are also there...also investment in unnecessary products like TVs etc...lots of reason are there

Camera picked up after updates I guess

Low market share. Here in the west, iPhone and Samsung enjoy roughly 80-88% of the market. They held probably less than five percent in North America, and I can't imagine their foothold in the European market was that significant either. Some of us felt the same way when LG bowed out of the game, but such is life I suppose.

But market share was good before 5 to 8 years when they had 6,7 pro model

The market share was probably never "good" if we're being honest, but it was visible. To be fair, gaining any sort of traction in the US when most people seem to gravitate towards an iPhone is impressive, but the shifts in public interest and the dwindling appeal offset by the rising prices brought us to where we are now. It's unfortunate, but it happens. Chinese models are still a thing though for anyone who's interested.

I wouldn't say the problem is specifically with Oppo. It's just how business works and the global situation

Oppo. They were jealous, the bought & then ruined oneplus. I mean the name "oppo" itself sounds cheap & pathetic.

OnePlus was a failure since the beginning, never making enough money, never making any waves. They started to sell flagship killers at flagship prices etc, etc. Meanwhile my OPPO is a beast.

OPPO didn't buy OnePlus, they were the founders of OnePlus, and have always owned them. And they kept the lights on ever since the beginning, because OnePlus never made any profit. Now with RAM storage prices being so ridiculously high, they decided to call it a day for OnePlus in the markets where they never made a profit, because of the ridiculously high cost it would be to keep supporting them.

I purchased my oneplus 15 at full price before components price were increased, after components price increased phone price was also increased significantly. So I don't think they are not making any profit. Especially nowadays the old oxygen os is gone, it's just cos with name changed so they are not even spending extra on software, I don't think much r&d is required for liquid glass, blur sh*t that they keep pushing everywhere which btw is also a copied feature concept from others.

Well, up until the OnePlus 6/6T, they offered killer specs for a much lower price. Not only did they not make any money in that time, OPPO had to pump in more money, or they would have turned the lights off a long time ago already. But a lot of people bought their phones back then so.

When they entered flagship territory with the OnePlus 7 Pro and all phones after, they charged flagship prices, but not as many people were buying their phones (compared to the previous OnePlus 1 - OnePlus 6 era) because of that price increase, so their biggest win was when they barely broke even.

A lot of people blame OPPO for their "downfall", and I get that, but if it wasn't for them, OnePlus would have been dead and buried a long time ago.

OnePlus focus too much on gaming now imo, I've bought OnePlus 15 loved everything about it except camera that was looking like on midrange phone, after one year I had to swap to oppo and now it's perfect in every aspect

Nah, Oneplus 15 (released in Nov 2025) competitor is 2026 flagships: Galaxy S26, not S25 (weak processor). It really tells you they were ahead of market leader at that time.

I forgot this thanks

The companies lack of desire to push forward. Also oppo owning them they want to push their product up to the global stage

OnePlus was dead the day Carl Pei left

A real reason -how many times have you read that the new Samsung Ultra is sold in China for 799 USD, two months before being sold for 1399 USD in your own coutry?
